For him, I’d give 5*. We don’t usually get delivered to a place by the head waiter 🤭 The reason for this was because when I walked into reception there was a girl gazing at herself through a mirror who seemed oblivious to anything other than her own reflection. I was able to continue my walk where I met more women, I tried to explain that we wanted food but there was a language barrier from both sides. I’ve no idea who they were as they didn’t appear to do anything other than sit around outside at night, bouncers maybe 🤔. Anyway I went back to my hotel moaning … so they sent for Superman to come & rescue us. I was both embarrassed & very surprised at this 😊 But the Head Waiter looked after us very well whenever we popped in. This place was very busy in the other 2 rooms where it catered for coach parties. They often spilled out into the room where we were & most of them smoked, all over us, whilst we were eating 🤢 We missed the Head Waiter on the last few nights, he was replaced by a younger very cheeky model. I say that because when I paid he thanked me & just helped himself to the change. He did look after us, & I would’ve tipped him anyway, but as Catherine Tates nan would say “Worra ******* liberty!”. Whatever, mature Head Waiter was still the best 😛 It was lovely sitting overlooking Lake Ohrid, this & mature Head Waiter sold this place. Another good thing was little Ohrid the dog, if you couldn’t eat your food he could, don’t leave your shoes lying around as he will take those too. We had a few very large, too large meals, & a beer or 2, but it’s a bit like one of those working men’s clubs from years gone by.

Hotel Mizo is situated on the shores of the beautiful Lake Ohrid in Southern North Macedonia. It’s picturesque 25 minute walk over the headland to the Ohrid old town, whilst the local community on the doorstep are quiet, kind and respectful - even if some tour operators might have differing opinions. The hotel boasts a spacious dining/function room with a highly effective sound system, outdoor bar area, access to the lake shore (and friendly local dogs - cuddles encouraged!) with sun loungers, and a pool. The complex also contains some apartments slightly away from the hotel epicentre - however these fall outside the scope of this review. The rooms are comfortable, and don’t concern themselves with the sort of frills that would distract from the wonderful sights and attractions in the locale. Several formats of room are offered (Standard room, double room, triple room, Annexe) - but no need to worry which you select on booking, as all rooms are close to indistinguishable… This is with one exception - each room comes with a unique scent (or musk?) - one assumes these will be released as a range of bespoke eau de parfums in due course, with the current supply chain challenges to blame for the delay in launching these in a hotel adjacent gift shop… one can only sit and wait for such a day with fingers crossed, as I’m certain “warm damp” from room 205 would be a game-changer on the London (UK) dating scene. The lack of in-room safe encourages (and empowers) you to take full responsibility of your valuables, or to entrust them to the hotel’s one-of-a-kind security team (more on that later). There are power plugs provided in the rooms, of which 2 are usable without posing a safety risk - whilst other hotels may offer more, Mizo’s provision promotes forward planning, and prioritisation of what really matters to you. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all rooms, but thoughtfully only works for approx 20 seconds at a time, effectively counteracting one of the scourges of our time - internet abuse. In these regards, and many more, a stay at Mizo promotes personal growth and self discovery. Mizo is not afraid to be a pioneer in green tourism. By following an “N minus one” policy on room towels, they save hundreds of unnecessary laundry loads a year whilst only requiring guests to do minimal towel sharing. Similarly, their “wipe and go” policy for dishwashing must save many thousands of liters of water a month, and gives guests a choice as to whether they go for “flavour+” dishes (with minimally increased risk of food poisoning), or “visibly clean” dishes (with similar levels of risk). Rooms are air conditioned for your comfort, without any of those pesky environmental features that so often ruin a holiday. Want to set your room’s temperature at 15 degrees Celsius all day, while you’re out, with the balcony door wide open at the peak of summer? At Mizo, you can. Glorious. The bathrooms have sufficient space for a slender adult human, with some thoughtful touc

It is difficult to rate the experience as I actually had a good week in North Macedonia and my experience was actually good. The hotel was hit and miss and with the right management it can be improved. First of all it is the first lake holiday I have ever had and I did like the lake. It was beautiful and the hotel was right next to it. I was given a room with a lake view which was really good. The evening meal was served in the restaurant with a spectacular view. I did like the food which I had to choose on a daily basis out of two options available. However, I hated the actual room which looked cheap with very cheap furniture and very old bedding which I didn't like at all. I also didn't like the fact that the bathroom was never cleaned. The sink looked absolutely filthy. It is so so easy to buy the bleach in bulk to dilute it and use it daily. It won't cost lots of money and it would be a good opportunity to keep it clean. The hotel hosted lots of children who came there for some football tournament and who were banging the doors non stop. It was really irritating and I did feel like going and complaining every evening but I never did. ) TUI provides a free excursion in Orhid and I do recommend it to everyone who comes in Ohrid as you will the things you might not discover yourself. I also took a TUI trip to Albania which was around 40 pounds including really nice lunch and was a quick introduction to another country though the actual trip can or should be improved. I will probably go to North Macedonia again but I would like to try a different hotel. The only reason I chose this hotel was because I could walk into town in the first place. But the cleanliness is the basics which needs to be put right, please.

Everything about this hotel was terrible.Filthy lots of rubbish. Smelly unfriendly staff.poor food. I don’t have anything good to say about this hotel accept don’t go there. Plug socket hanging off the wall. Wallpaper coming off the wall. No smoke or fire alarms in our room or corridors. We stayed on the 1st floor.

Had a lovely week here B&B on a Tui package holiday. Our room over looking the pool and lake was clean and as you would expect for a 3 star. It was cleaned every day and clean towels most days. Breakfast was just about adequate but no complaints for the price paid, although there was no toast or toaster. We spent everyday beside the pool and there was never a shortage of beds. The pool bar did not open during our stay but we bought drinks from the shop across the road and stored them in our fridge. We found a lovely shore side cafe about 5 mins from the hotel that was great for lunch. We did not eat or drink in the hotel restaurant so cannot comment on that. The hotel is about 20-30mins walk into the centre of Ohrid which really came alive at night. We loved Ohrid and would definitely return and recommend it for anyone wanting a holiday which is that bit different. Prices in Ohrid are unbelievably cheap

Reserved lower unit with kitchen and 4 beds. Decent hygiene, beds are relatively small so be aware if you are on a bigger size or taller than 5”10. Kitchen is poorly equipped with utensils, to be precise not enough for four people. There are only two coffee cups, 2 glasses for water, 3 plates and that’s all! Pretty much you need to bring your own set if you want to take benefits of kitchen. If you decide to give up on using kitchen and decide to enjoy served meals at resort included restaurant, good luck with that. Unless you are one of the locals or you keep begging someone to approach your table you would end up not being served! I waited 30minutes for a waiter to bring the menu. When you call waiter who is not assigned to your table, you get only hand point to imaginary person coming any moment. After getting menu, another 45 minutes passed and none approached our table even after calling out and waving hands to our waiter. This was so rude and unprofessional! After this l, we decided to leave a table. Keep in mind this is the only restaurant within decent walking distance. So unless you are willing to get into car and drive for every meal, think twice before you decide to pay for such “service”.

For the beatiful scenery of the location I cannot fault, however 1-atrocious plumbing and the constant malodrius stench of a dead rat emanating from the bathroom, dated and boged up everywhere. 2-arrogant and lewd waiting staff, constantly DEMANDING I pay for drinks for him all night whilst being inappropriate with women (although this is down to one individual who I will not mention) 3-poor breakfast, leaking roof, unable to enjoy a coffee outside for who knows what reason, food okay but repetitively dull, egg spam pie, access to food impossible due to quantity of guests to positioning of food. 4-beds comfortable linen clean but very basic returning to room we decided was like returning to the 'cell' Positives-excellent wifi and tv choice, overall poor but glimpses of a decent place very occasionally. One last thing to mention, the nearest bar or restaurant is a good 20min walk from here so it gives mizo carteblanche to charge what they like for food and drink, which I found to be expensive for the area.

As soon as we arrived in Ohrid, we stopped for a beer to rest a little. the waiters are totally not interested, the tables are dirty, the service is desperate. go around in a wide arc. We ordered one starter and received the second after 30 minutes.
