Hotel Grien

We have been guests of this hotel for over 20 years and we can only consider it a real treat. From the kindness and attention of the Avesani family for every need, to the courtesy of the staff, to the cleanliness, to the quality of the food, not to mention the wonderful SPA, with a unique salt hydromassage cave, never found in any other structure. We are surprised to read some reviews, which in no way reflect the wonderful experience we have had here for over 20 years. Gabriele and Lavinia

One of the 4 stars fell! The kindness and availability found by telephone at the time of booking was not matched by equal satisfaction during the stay. The hotel is a good 3 star: don't set higher expectations. Only the panorama is saved from the "gourmet panorama" because it has nothing gourmet about it: the tempting photos of the dishes published do not correspond in the slightest to the courses offered. New Year's Eve dinner, a torture! 4 hours nailed to the table for a dinner equal to (if not less appetising) than ordinary dinners... if only it had been traditional cuisine!! Exorbitant wine prices, increased by over 100%. The service was friendly enough, but unprofessional. We even witnessed "differences" between the staff... perhaps they thought that a glass door would shield their scurrilous shouting!! On several occasions we took almost cold showers justified by the management with the fact that several guests were using the hot water at the same time: absurd! The swimming pool with lukewarm water but not at all comfortable after skiing. In short, if you are used to real 4 stars or more, look for something else because it only has 4 star rates.

Beautiful hotel in a privileged position above the town of Ortisei. Stayed in a Panorama room, very clean, with a beautiful view of the Sassolungo. Owners and above all the staff very kind and helpful even if the attention towards foreigners is higher than that reserved for Italians..... Varied breakfast with availability of excellent products. Excellent dinner with a great choice of first and second courses and top quality raw materials. Excellent shuttle service at any time of the day to the center and the ski lifts of Ortisei. Very small pool, Spa not visited. To return

Four star hotel but not everything deserves 4 stars for example the care of the interior of the suite, the light bulbs, the towels to be changed, the closing of the external doors, it lacks an inspection. Kindness is not lacking especially among the employees, I would ask the hoteliers to pay greater attention to detail to achieve a true 4 star as per the price requested. Lovely location, excellent breakfast but dinner in the hotel is quite expensive compared to eating in Ortisei in excellent restaurants. Unfortunately I have to say that we stayed in this hotel many years ago and we returned for this reason but ... it was much better looked after than now.

We have just returned from a refreshing week from Ortisei. The hotel is located high up in tranquility, a very strong point as they have a shuttle always available from morning to evening with Hasim to whom special thanks go. The cuisine is truly at the top with various evenings dedicated to galas, local products, aperitifs, as well as the cleanliness of the various environments including the rooms, always perfectly clean without a speck of dust. Among the waitresses, Maria is at the top! The others are also very kind and professional. Unfortunately, however, overall the hotel is not at the top... since, as also stated to the owner, Mr. Rainer the family garden room for 4 people is absolutely not 4 star. Although we were aware when booking that the daughters' room was dark without a window, unfortunately even the internal one in the cavity did not ventilate the room at all. Luckily, our room had access to a small garden all to ourselves with armchairs and a swing. Furthermore bathrooms to forget for a 4 star... without windows and one without an extractor and with bidet and toilet attached to the tub and you could barely fit in both. Definitely something to do all over again. Last negative side you cannot pay in the mountains where the fountains are free everywhere a jug of tap water for dinner is almost 4 euros!!! charge 15 euros for the change decided by the waitress as it is essential. For this reason my opinion is average but with the renovation promised also by the owner and with the small points to review,... with all the positive notes described the hotel really has great potential for a leap in quality. Anyway thanks we had a great time.

Beautiful structure, under renovation, well looked after, services, cleanliness, friendly and well trained staff, a good spa, new swimming pool, saunas, relaxation room, massages, all very nice, refined cuisine, typical evenings, excellent breakfast, service excellent and fast shuttles. a place where I will definitely return.. and which I would recommend to anyone looking for in the Ortisei area... I forgot.. 5 minutes away from the Alpe di Suisi chairlift..
