Exe Auriense

The hotel was perfect for us as we were travelling around Northern Spain in our campervan and parking in Ourense isn't easy to find in the city and several hotels the parking was not on site and reviews said parking was tight for a car so we would have struggled with our van. The Exe parking was great with plenty of space, there was a lovely outdoor pool area (although we didn't use it as only there for 24 hours). It was easy to get into town from a bus stop a 3 minute walk away opposite the Meson bar/cafe at the junction on the road to the hotel and was 85c each adult each way. The hotel itself is a little dated and basic, not the 5* it says it is but was clean and the beds were comfy and the room had a tv and fridge plus a hairdryer and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. The staff were welcoming on arrival. Do not be put off by the location as the bus was easy and cheap and the hotel is not fancy in any way but if you are there to sightsee in Ourense and the room is for showering and sleeping in don't hesitate to book.

The Hotel is clean comfortable and the staff helpful. The Bar us only open for 4 hours in the evening. There is no restaurant and Bar food choice was very uninspiring. The Hotel is located in the outskirts of town with very limited choice of restaurants in the vicinity. The pool looked as if had been empty for a long while. It really seems to be targeting the commercial market not leisure travellers.

Very good hotel not far away from city center

Arriving at the hotel by car i was immediately surprised with the 1st image of the hotel ,looks wasted and in need of repairs. At the reception the recepcionist on dutie was not very welcoming and the room she lodged me seemed like i was in a prison , very very small located in the inside of the hotel that is designed as a square and my view was the wasll of the hotel ,terrible. So i ask if there is another available room, unfortunately due to Covid 19 many hotels are half full ,and she looks to the other lady next to her and treats me with contempt and say “give him 415” 415 was what you can see in the pictures , the walls were full of scribbles but i mean full , very dirty look , this was suppose to be a 4 star hotel , furniture wasted ,seemed more like a 15 euro gueshouse and even those dont have wall like this . Very small window also. Uppon arrival i asked for the pool that i had seen and i was informed that the pool is closed. Pool was one of the reasons i had choosen the hotel ,to have a swim and relax ,although it seemed ok it was closed ,this information should be advertised in the hotels page so that people could choose if they want to book or not ,not just being informed uppon arrival that the pool is closed. Although the hotel is located in a very nice area ,the hotel tennis courts are tottally wasted and one of the 2 parkings also. Last ,excellent breakfast but not welcoming staff ,Ac freezing , not even a smile or a word of welcome. Not coming back…
