Arrived at 12:30, food arrived at 14:00. Not impressed. Service very poor , they were not very busy. Customers waiting at bar for long time with no service. Now the food, 2 returned as cold in centre, returned after a blast in microwave. Vegetables were a mix cooked sliced carrot, peas, leak slices(I think) and some mangetout that had been shown hot water only. You had a choice of chips or chips unless you had one of the mains that included mash(2). One of us had the curry that wasn't that special, but asked as there was onion bhajis as a starter, could he one and be charged extra. No you must have the complete starter. Great customer service.

I don't typically write reviews, however, I believe when a company go above and beyond, they should be recognised. I stayed here with my 2-year-old and my husband for a visit to Peppa Pig World from the 3rd to the 4th of September for her birthday. When going on to Peppa Pigs world website and looking at their deals on 2-day breaks which come with hotels you will soon realise the cost to do it through them is very expensive when you see the hotels on offer. Some our miles away from the park and aren't good hotels to stay at with young children. I decided to do it all myself using their 30% discount if you were to purchase 2-day tickets through them and then pay the hotel directly. Mortimer Arms is amazing they are on the site of Peppa Pig World just at the entrance to the park. It is so close you could leave your car in the car park and walk there. I was unfortunate to have issues that may have stopped us from being able to take our daughter for 2 days however they were so accommodating that they helped me make it work so it was still possible to give my daughter the birthday I so desperately wanted to give her. This is what has made me write the reviews as so many hotels nowadays just think about bottom lines and how to make the most money out of customers whereas The Mortimer thinks about the customer and how they can make them happy which in the long run can make far more money for them due to their fantastic and kind nature. We stayed in room 10 which is perfect for those coming with a child or two children and one baby for example. This is due to having a small living room with a pull-out bed and the space big enough in the bedroom to have a cot or possibly a blow-up single mattress for another child. They had a cot ready for us in the room when we got there, and the room was spotless. Yes, it was hot that night due to the weather being 25 degrees however there were 2 large fans in the room and we kept the windows open until we went to sleep which we weren’t bothered by as the hotel can't control the heat but they can make sure they give us everything we need to keep cool which they did without us asking. It had tea and coffee-making facilities and two TVs with Freeview. the bathroom was spotless and came with a lovely walk-in shower lovely shower gel etc. Check-out was a 11 a.m. which was perfect as the park opens at 10 a.m.. breakfast was available until 9:30 a.m. and was also lovely. My husband and I had full English which may I add Their scrambled eggs are amazing and my daughter had scrambled eggs and baked beans plus yoghurts, fruit, toast and pastries and she also had an option for cereal too if we wanted it plus fresh juice jugs. I gave them a cupcake in the morning and asked if they wouldn't mind putting 2 candies in it so we could sing her happy birthday which they were happy too. The lovely waitress then sat down to talk to her and even offered to help feed her as my daughter does like that sometimes offering us the chance to eat

Stayed here with our grandchildren the night before going into Paultons Park. Had a family room/suite good double size room with sofa bed and z bed in the next room. Lots of tea/coffee & biscuits provided, plenty of sockets for charging all the devices. Great hot shower with plenty of nice towels. Good breakfast, great staff.

Myself and my husband stayed here as part of a Wedding party group. the room was lovely, modern, clean, good facilities (apart from the world's tiniest bathroom sink!) Very comfortable and breakfast the next morning was good. Room alone 10/10. However, as a wedding reception venue it was very disappointing. Food was good, however we were given glasses of prosecco as we arrive and told to keep for the toast (which happened a good 2 hours later, so nice and warm prosecco when raising our glasses). They told the Bride that she wasn't guaranteed her room early to get ready in on the day. The function room was well set up, but lacked a very key component - there was no facility to play music, only an old CD player with a handful of CDs on offer. Essentially we listened to a CD by the Beautiful South on loop throughout the entire meal. There wasn't even a function to allow blue tooth or USB connection for us to play the bespoke playlist that had been created for the event. Even worse, when it came to the evening, this meant that the bride and groom couldn't have their first dance. Eventually someone from the party went home and brought back a Bluetooth speaker and we were able to play their song and have a bit of a dance, however.......... that too was scuppered by the female manager of the function room who came over at 9.55pm and told us to turn down the music as the family who were in the room above had complained about the noise. Let's be clear, the music was not offensive (80s pop) and was not too loud, just loud enough to have a dance around to. Presumably DJs must not be allowed either as they'd make way too much noise - haven forbid we have some fun at a wedding! Quite why a family were given the room above the function room or why they were not informed when they booked, is quite beyond me, but expecting a wedding party to 'be quiet' at 9.55pm is quite frankly ridiculous. Needless to say, once we were told to be quiet, we stopped drinking and, as a guest, it put a dampener on the celebrations. Well done Mortimer Arms, you saved yourselves huge amounts of revenue from all those extra bar profits you could have had - great business sense. The Bride and Groom were on a high from the overall day and I wanted to protect them from this nonsense - however the least I can do is ensure that future couples seriously consider booking this venue unless they know full well what they are going to get. So sad, as actually, it had great potential.

We had a lovely three night stay at The Mortimer Arms. Our room was spacious and serviced impeccably every day. We ate in the restaurant and found the choice excellent and service friendly and efficient. There was a menu plus daily specials. We would like to return for another visit before too long.

We stayed because my cousin was having her wedding reception there. The room was beautiful with a massive bathroom. My only criticism would be that it was way too hot in the room but we opened all the windows and that made it bearable. The wedding was amazing and the venue beautiful. The wedding hog roast and hot buffet food was great too but I’m not sure if the hotel did that or not. Breakfast in the morning was delicious though. It was a very good quintessential British pub hotel

We booked the Mortimer's Arms at short notice to host a presentation / meeting. The manager was very accommodating with regard to catering and setting up the room, including supplying a projector and screen. The buffet and beverages were delivered as promised and were of good quality. The adjacent bar and restaurant were very welcoming, with some of the guests enjoying their offerings before the meeting started. All in all a very pleasant experience, and being just off junction 2 of the M27 motorway was an ideal location.
