Oakshaw Guesthouse Paisley

Genuinely underwhelming, there not here for customer satisfaction in my eyes, rooms and not what they're made out to be. Communal toilets. Not clean Not welcoming Cheap but what you safe price wish isn't worth it honestly. Location isn't bad, next to a train line to Central Glasgow.

The bed was so uncomfortable, it was solid. I stayed 2 nights and left with my back killing me and shattered. The boiler made alot of noise which was very irritating. Such a shame as the rest of the room was fine. It had a kettle microwave and Fridge freezer. Just be sure to bring cutlery if you plan using the microwave. There is a toilet in the room and shared shower facilities in the hall. I won't be back unfortunately due to the most important feature of a guesthouse... a decent mattress.!

My worst experience in any establishment. We arrived at 18:00 to check in but there was no check in and indeed we had to phone to find a password to enter a most dismal building. Nothing on the first floor so we had to use stairs to room 12 on the third floor. Again we had to phone in order to get another password to access the bedroom. On opening it we were faced with a filthy, unkempt and in dire need of just basic repairs room. The carpets were thread bare and dirty,cladding was falling off the wall around a decrepit kitchen sink and a toilet situated in a box in a corner.Bed linen in a disgusting condition. There was no way we could stay there. I had paid a higher rate which supposedly allowed refunds but in trying to get my money back after three phone calls and four emails, I was told no refunds were allowed. My advice is under no circumstances book into this Guest House which is run by someone called Mr. Asif.

Just dreadful. Not a good place for any solo traveller. It's dirty, feels like anyone can gain access to the building & there are no staff. Don't know when any cleaning gets done or even if.... The communal areas are quite awful & anyone wanting to use them has no way to clean them before use. There was a double socket in the toilet with something plugged in. Not sure that's legal! My advice would be to find somewhere else!

We were aware of the previous reviews but thought things might have changed. They haven’t. Our confirmation said double room with private bath room. False! There was a toilet in a cupboard (no ceiling) and a basin. When I complained the response (through an intercom) was unhelpful and clearly practiced! The bathrooms were upstairs and shared. The room was freshly painted, with clean carpet, linen, towels and reasonable furniture. However toilet seat was broken, TV did not work, milk was off, room was very noisy. I have put in a complaint to *********** Don’t go there. It’s not cheap and they are con artists.

I have nothing nice to write about this place it's not worth the asking price, no shower in the room as requested and paid for just a toilet in a cupboard the door cant be closed while using the toilet , no light in there, no mirror for shaving or doing your makeup/ hair,towel dirty, no cups for tea which was good in away because milk and tea were out of date.no where to hang clothes no draw to keep things in, no staff on site, no hand rail on the stairs...... PLEAS BE AWARE YOU CANNOT CANCEL YOUR BOOKING OR GET YOUR MONEY BACK ITS TAKEN OUT ASAP AFTER YOU BOOKED. I would never ever go back I felt very very unsafe I even put a chair under the door handle just in case.
