Palatino Hotel

Oh no TINNED peaches what is the world coming to, if there is a fire get out. I will give you the broken sunbeds, never saw a cat INSIDE the dining room. Its a 3 star greek hotel that is perfectly adequate. You dont get 5 star for 3 star prices. Been twice been quite happy both times.

Great hotel up a small hill just a few streets away from the town... Rooms are typical Greek, ours was a sea view with a balcony...Bathroom and bedroom clean and tidy with TV and everything you need... Breakfast was great and the staff are very helpful and friendly... Recommended.

I can’t believe the positive reviews for this hotel. The only positive is the distance to the town. Room was shabby and the cleaning was extremely poor. No fire evacuation instructions in the room and just 2 fire extinguishers just on the floor - not attached to the wall. Breakfast was disgusting - at one point we were served TINNED Peaches - unbelievable. Hot food was inedible & toaster was just a small household one - totally inadequate for all the hotel guests. A lot of the loungers around the pool were broken. The pool bar ran out of bottled beer for a few days - the impression was everything is being run on a shoestring. When I came to check out the lift wasn’t working but there was no sign on the lift to that effect and when I approached reception I just got a shrug of shoulders and no offer of help at all. So I had to struggle with the cases downstairs. If you are a ‘cat lover’ you will love it here - I am not & could not understand why hotel guests insisted on feeding cats in the hotel restaurant - not something that would be allowed in any decent restaurant in the UK. Needless to say I will not be returning

Outstanding value stay in Lixouri. An easy 10 minute walk through quiet residential streets to the main square, harbourfront, and ferry to Argostoli. The place is clean. Lobby, room, pool - all of it well cared for. Outstanding water pressure in the shower. Lovely sunrises from the balcony. Everyone is friendly. Respectable breakfast. Books to borrow by the front door. If you pick up the guide for walks around Argostoli, I left that one! Unless you want room service and a big tub, this hotel has everything you need. Highly recommend.

Amazing little hotel, a real gem. Up on the hillside overlooking the bay with breathtaking views of the sea and mountains. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and the breakfast good. A quiet place to relax and enjoy the sun which is highly recommended. We will be back.

Stayed here last week, excellent say amazing view , couldnt fault hotel , excellent service , no rush for sun loungers in morning , chilled and relaxing , up on a bit of a hill , breakfast was nice even better when the fried eggs were out , will definetly return

We enjoyed our stay at the Paletino. Our room was clean and comfortable with an amazing view of the sea from the balcony. A pleasant surprise to find a fridge and air con in our room. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food at breakfast was fresh and local. Plenty of good restaurants a short walk from the hotel. We would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it, staff are friendly and we saw some of them as family at the end, rooms are basic but we had new mattresses and pillows, our sheets and towels were changed nearly everyday, room was cleaned everyday, the bathroom was ok, bit of mould in the shower, socket was hanging a bit, but it didn’t bother us, pool was great, nice and big, enough loungers around but most of them were broke but you could still use them, it really didn’t bother us. Breakfast was nice, I liked it, had choices enough, would recommend to go early as it can be a bit hectic when loads people are waiting , I would recommend to bring own kettle if you do like your tea and coffee as there is no kettle in your room. Outside bar was good, the food was lovely, and not expensive. But only served food between 12 and 4pm, but the chicken slovaki and chicken nuggets are highly recommended by me and meatballs and carbonara are highly recommended by hubby. Plenty of restaurant around, they usually open around 6.30pm. It’s a quiet town, not really a nightlife there but you can take the ferry from lixouri to Argestilio and they got some nice restaurants there, ferry is €3 per person. We love cats and we had about 4 coming to the hotel, we fed them everyday and nearly adopted one, but she had kittens so we could not take her home, only one was brave enough to come into the dinning area, but she was no trouble.

Wonderful small hotel spotlessly clean nothing too much trouble for all the staff. We had a great view from our balcony over the bay and mountains.Breakfast was typical greek with plenty of choice. Good.size swimming pool but could do with some new sun beds. Pool bar was good with plenty of choice of drinks and food Overall would stop here again if wanting to stay in Kefalonia
