"Location good. 10 minute up hill walk from town square. Staff were generally friendly. Room dated. Balcony door handle broke off when trying to open door, shower door kept falling off. Toilet seat loose. Room small. Bathroom smaller. Pool was good but did not open until 11am apparently due to start time of ‘life guard’ who was there sometimes not always. Lifeguard constantly telling people off for jumping in pool, depending on who was jumping in pool. Sun loungers old, tatty & uncomfortable, umbrellas old tatty . Breakfast poor . Food quality poor. Lunch menu & food round pool poor, drinks poor. Bottled beer was good. Receptionist was lovely Will NOT be returning…"

"We returned yesterday from a holiday in Lixouri in Kefalonia and stayed in this hotel which we absolutely recommend. Convenient as a starting point for the beautiful nearby beaches or more challenging trips. The center is just a stone's throw away, as is the port and the many taverns. The car park behind the hotel, the owner, an exquisite person, pampered us with large quantities of fresh fruit which he also made available for us on the day of departure... It's a pleasure to meet people like that and we will definitely be back. We thank him because he also contributed to making this holiday beautiful!"

"There are no words to express how amazing these villas are. It was the absolute perfect place for our week in Kefelonia. The residences are in a quiet spot near Xi Beach, and are absolutely gorgeous. They are modern and clean. We really don’t have words to express how amazing this place is. The grounds are gorgeous. We awoke each morning to look out the huge glass doors to see the sea and sunrise. We could walk the wooden boardwalk to our own beach to swim in the sea. We felt like we were in our own world of luxury and paradise. The staff was wonderful to communicate with and provided us with a lot of information as we needed. STAY HERE! Absolutely amazing."

"We had a beautiful stay in this accommodation and can absolutely recommend them further. All was very beautiful, maintained and clean. Breakfast was not exaggerated, but completely enough and perfect for a good start in the day. The absolute highlight was for us the beautiful sunset that you could enjoy every day directly from the room – simply dreaming! Also the Taverns directly next to the accommodation we can very recommend. The food was very fine and there is also a beautiful view. A rental car is important in our view as the accommodation is something outside. The beach, about 5 minutes by car, was even the most beautiful beach in Kefalonia for us. This has never been to drive far and could enjoy the stay properly. The pool is also very beautiful and invites to relax. We also want to highlight the very friendly and hearty hosts we have enjoyed around. A total of beautiful accommodation with great views, dreamy sunshines and a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. We would come back at any time!"

"We recently stayed at the Palatino Hotel and overall had a pleasant stay but there were a few things that stopped it being a higher rating. The room was basic, but that's expected for Greece, the beds were comfortable and the free air conditioning was excellent. The cleaners came in daily to freshen the room, they were fabulous. The pool itself was lovely and the food served at the pool bar was good. Unfortunately, the pool experience was let down by the "lifeguard". Her manner came across as quite intimidating and some of the rules seemed to be made up on the spot, such as only allowing one dive into the pool per day!! You constantly feel like you are being watched by her, not in a lifeguard capacity. The pool also doesn't open until 11am because that's when the lifeguard starts, which was disappointing as I enjoy an early morning swim. It also closes at 7pm, which felt quite early. The bathroom shower and tray were covered with mould and grime and it had a damp smell. The fridge in the room was very small, had broken shelves and became very hot on top, there was a drawer above it and we couldn't put anything in due to the heat. The location offers lovely views, it's around a 10–15 minute walk downhill to the tavernas, with a fairly steep uphill walk back. Breakfast was quite basic and the same every day. We also had a late flight home and asked if we could keep our room on, we were told the hotel was full. The alternative shower room provided was very poor, down in the basement, tiny, with no air conditioning, no mirror, no plug sockets and just a handheld shower over a tray, toilet and sink. It wasn't ideal for freshening up before travelling and we didnt use it. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and there are some good points to this hotel, but there are several areas that could be improved to make guests' stays much more enjoyable."

"Family holiday 10 of us, rooms were lovely, kept spotlessly clean. Gardens well maintained around the hotel. Dinning was good even with grandchildren 2, 4, 5 and 7. Something for everyone. Children's entertainment was good, perhaps lacked a little on adult entertainment. The 3 swimming pools were really good. There are short walks to two beaches which had bars and restaurants."

"We had a lovely week staying at Zest, Petros was happy to help with anything that we needed and made our stay very comfortable. Zest is a 5-8 min walk from the beautiful Xi beach where we spent a lot of our time. Another bonus is that Mercury car hire is right opposite which makes it very convenient to get a car at very good prices. Thank you for a lovely week, we hope to come back next year! "

"We stayed at Aura Boutique Hotel from Aug 22 to 31, 2023. We are a family of 3 adults and we were given a very roomy suite on the ground floor. The beds were super comfortable (I really enjoyed the firm pillows); spacious bathroom with plenty of soap, shampoo, toilet paper); great smelling and absorbent towels; and an air conditioning system that not only worked, but kept the room nice and cold. The location of the hotel is right on "Fikia Beach". Fikia Beach is composed of fine, redish sand. It's a perfect beach for those who are not good swimmers and for children as it deepens very gradually - unlike many other beaches in Kefalonia. A set of 2 lounge chairs + 1 umbrella will set you back a mere 5 Euro!! Christina will be happy to take your orders for food and/or drink and deliver them to you. Prices are extremely reasonable. The very best part of staying at Aura is the ownership and staff. The owners, Anastasia and Dimitris, the owners, will make you feel at home from the very first "hello". Olga will take great care of your room every day. And Marina, with her cheerful disposition, will greet you every morning at breakfast. Breakfast has a good choice that changes every day, with one exception: the omelet. Delicious! You must absolutely have the fruit salad, topped with local yoghurt and honey. We cannot wait to go back!"
