My toddler managed to pull on a curtain valence and it completely came out of the ceiling. I notified the front desk immediately. I had to request that the piece be removed from my room—a long wooden board with screw/nails poking out of the top. I was told no other rooms were available and that no maintenance person was there that day (Saturday) to fix it.I stayed my last night with no curtains or window coverings to block out the overnight lights in the parking lot. Charged $100 to have the curtain put back up after my check-out. An apologetic employee told me to contact the General Manager the next day when she would be in to see if she could possibly reduce the charge as my son barely pulled the curtain and weighed about 40 lbs and they definitely could have covered the window somehow. The GM was rude and told me that plenty of kids have pulled on that in the 17 years that it had been put up and none had managed to pull it down so he must’ve been swinging from it. She also claimed that they had nothing to cover the window with as “even old sheets had been thrown out” prior to our stay. Needless to say I won’t be back at this hotel and won’t recommend it to others. There are plenty of other hotels in the vicinity that should be booked instead.
