Aloha from the breathtaking Garden Isle of Kauai… Where do I begin? As with all great stories, it’s best to start at the beginning. Back in August 2019, my fiancé and I were looking for the perfect destination to say “I do.” After exploring many options, one place stood out above the rest — Kauai. We had no idea that decision would lead us not only to the most beautiful island on Earth, but to a place that would truly feel like home: Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club. Nestled on the golden shores of Poʻipū Beach — just a short, scenic 30-minute drive from Lihue Airport — this resort became much more than just a place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles, genuine hospitality, and the kind of care you can’t find just anywhere. We’ve now visited three times — in 2019, 2024, and 2025 — and each stay has been more memorable than the last. And yes… we’re already counting down the days until we return in 2026. YES! What makes Marriott Waiohai Beach Club so special? Of course, the location is unbeatable — oceanfront views, swaying palm trees, and sunsets that stop you in your tracks. But it’s the people who truly make the difference. Every single team member — from the front desk to the grounds crew to housekeeping — radiates aloha. They remember your name, your story, and greet you like family. Their warmth is sincere, and their service is exceptional. Kyla, Faith, Tyler, Jess, Jessica, Dean, Bob, Anna, Carole, Cat, Rand, Kai, Alvin, and Becca — each of you has made our stays unforgettable. Whether it was a friendly chat in the lobby, going the extra mile to help with a request, or simply offering a warm smile when we needed it most — you all made us feel like we belonged. Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for your hospitality, care, and kindness. It’s no surprise we've met guests who’ve returned to this same resort over 20 times. Kauai is my favorite island, and this is now my favorite stay. You just can't beat the location & stretch of beaches. I was pleased with how spacious the rooms were, actually nicer than in pictures. Great gym, ping pong shuffle board cornhole activities for kids, restaurant & drink by the pool were great. Grounds were beautiful and well kept, friendly staff. Close proximity to shops, bakery/coffee & restaurants.

We stayed for a week and loved everything about it! The property was gorgeous, the beach was fun (a little small, but still fine), and the rooms were spacious. On the inside, the rooms were maybe a little dated, but the property itself made up for it with all the well manicured lawns, waterfalls, landscaping, etc. The pools were clean and taken care of, and everyone was really laid back and accommodating. We didn't book a special view or anything, but we were able to overlook scenic gardens from our large balcony. The beds were also really comfortable! Overall, this property, and the island of Kauai, are everything you could ask for in a tropical vacation! We even saw sea turtles on the beach!

Family wanted to visit Kauai this year and we like Marriott, so looked into options/availability. Had been told that Poipu was the best area. This hotel is right on the beach, so we booked a room for a week. It was an excellent home base for our family of five adults. Property is pretty with nice landscaping. Our 2-bedroom unit was spacious, bright and comfortable. Overlooked an empty lot adjacent to the Poipu Beach parking lot. Not a problem though with the landscaping offsetting the view. Opened the sliding doors early each morning to enjoy the sound of birds and roosters! Stopped at Costco and Walmart in Lihue for groceries and made use of the unit kitchen and community grills. Glad we did as we were exhausted at the end of each day and not interested in heading back out to dinner. Impressed with all the kitchen had stocked - everything we needed to cook, plus a blender for beach drinks! A huge plus for this property is access to the beach. Walk past the pools and onto the sand. Also enjoyed the “quiet” pool which had chairs available each time we stopped by. That said, the property feels a bit overrun. Did not wish to spend more than a day there. The main pool area was overcrowded and chaotic. Glad we purchased beach equipment at Costco as the hotel doesn’t provide anything on the beach. Kauai is beautiful with more to visit and do than can be fit into a week. This hotel was great as a space to relax each night after a busy day elsewhere on the island. Unit was comfortable and spacious for five adults. Everyone - staff as well as other guests - are friendly and the overall vibe is happy. That said, I would only stay here again if we were with a large group and/or planning to spend our time elsewhere during the day.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE PAYING!!! Please make sure you understand this is a timeshare of Marriott, and not a normal Marriott hotel. I had a terrible experience, I purchased a room via the Bonvoy app with Titanium status, and was put in the “hotel section” which is fine for me, I understand it’s a “owners” resort. But the hotel portion is extremely run down, old, smells like mildew. The owners side is nice! If you are staying as a Bonvoy or paid guest, DO NOT STAY HERE.

Disappointing stay and only on our 3rd day. We are owners of multiple Marriott Vacation Clubs and I understand that the nicer views are given to owners of this club. We are owners at Ko Olina so understand that very well. That being said I would have hoped after using many extra club points to get an ocean view room we would at least have a lanai we could sit on and enjoy this vacation. Did not need an amazing view of the ocean. We overlook a road and parking lot. Also the room is so dated. Crank windows, old furniture, dirty screens and a dark interior even with all the curtains open. Marriott has really left this property unattended. Food is just ok and very expensive. Was even charged an extra dollar for a little extra mayo for a 27.00 fish sandwich. Activities are lacking in comparison to Maui and Ko Olina. I love Kauai but will never stay here again. I can’t imagine spending 800.00 a night for this room. Employees are mostly friendly except for the front desk. If we could move I would.
