Sun1 Port Elizabeth

We were a group that I booked for, the receptionist was very helpful on the day of booking in as we were a bit early, but she made a plan for us to at least get some of the rooms earlier. They were always very friendly, and our rooms was always nicely cleaned when we returned at the end of the day. The generator was a very big help while most of PE did not have electricity.

Had a bit problem with the hotel. After I did check out and took a flight to other country they made mi check in again and asked to come back because I left couple things at the room…. Aria not safe, I’ve got robbed there… and the staff didn’t tell me about places that I shouldn’t go… (it was only couple minutes of walk from the hotel) So if you solo travelers be careful!

Small and simple and what you need. Just needed a place to sleep.

In a prime area with access to alot of food outlets and sea point

Good for one day of business travelers

When we arrived at the hotel for checking in everything looked normal at the reception, until we were given the room 316, the room had a dirty carpet that had burnt stains and sticky oily stains on it and there was this weird smell in the room but when we did some inspection, we figured out it was the carpet because we had smelt the same smell in the hallway, this was very disappointing for us because it revealed the state of the hotel and it made us not have hope. But as we thought that was the only problem, we encountered many problems with the dilapidated state of the hotel room, we had we realized that the shower was dirty and not thoroughly cleaned and the shower did not have a drain, the toilet door could not lock properly as it needed repairing as well as the toilet and seat because it was wobbly and not stable. The bed sheets had brown stains and dust, therefore all of the mentioned above shows signs of neglect and I need the management to look into that since December holidays are approaching. The beach views were amazing, the hotel is close to restaurants which that a good thing, but it's a pity that we were not able to enjoy all of that because of the neglected state of the room. I do believe that the hotel has great potential to improve.

Upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for us as a family because it's close to the beach and that's what we wanted. Our room was clean and had everything we needed , we even had a partial view of the ocean (that was exciting ). The only disappointing part was the fact that the microwave was not working and we weren't able to warm up our takeaways and it seems as if it had stopped working for a while , if it had stopped working for a while why is it on display at the front without notice and why isn't it fixed ? . I need the management to look into that. Otherwise fantastic location , near the beach and is convenient for us as a family .We had an amazing experience at the hotel last year December 2025 and we've again booked for this year as we will be spending our dec-Jan holidays there for 2026.

Overall the accomdation was good, i think theres an ant problem(there where ants everywhere) and this should be checked out please.
