My stay at the Sentinel Hotel was overall a great experience. The bed was very comfortable, and even though we didn’t get a chance to use room service, I feel like it would’ve been amazing. Since it was our first time in Portland and we were coming from out of state, we spent most of our time exploring the city and the nearby attractions.
The hotel itself has a really nice atmosphere the staff at check-in and check-out were friendly and welcoming. Dylan at the front desk was especially helpful.
We did experience an inconvenience on our first night: a full emergency building evacuation. We got up, got ready, and evacuated as instructed, but it ended up being nothing, which definitely disrupted our night since we were already getting ready for bed. I mentioned it at checkout, and Dylan let me know he would take care of the resort fee for that night. I’ll be checking the final billing statement to make sure it reflects that adjustment.
Another thing to note is the parking situation. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, which I wish I had known ahead of time. Luckily, we found a nearby lot for $24 a night much better than paying $65 for valet. There were also a few external holiday parties happening at the hotel during our stay, so the elevators were a little congested at times, but it didn’t negatively affect our experience.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Sentinel. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is kind, and the vibe is great.
