Hotel Piccolo Portofino

This hotel needs an urgent restoration. It is overpriced. The location and the view are great but the accommodation is very poor. The carpet in the room is old and faded, the bathroom is old, and the windows need paint. Looks like a good hotel 20 years ago but that has not been maintained in many years. The breakfast could be better and with more quality products.

Have been to this hotel in 2012, 2017 and in August 2023. Despite the fact the room rate has increased for more than double in price in 2023, there were no development or the slightest improvement in the hotel or property area. On the contrary, there were holes and paint fading in the room, toilet smell of sewage & urinary. Toilet sink was malfunctioned. There were horrible leakage from the hotel window and balcony when it Rainer. Breakfast was served with portion packed cereal. For the 800 ++ euro per night room rate we paid we expected more that packet cereal. Hotel employees showed no motivation, which add on to the list. Wine cabinet in the restaurant was filled with layer of dust. What a shame for both the hotel and the employees. Recommend highly to reconsider staying at this hotel. Their glory days are over.

Fantastic! I stayed at this hotel in 1987 (honeymoon) and 1998 (ten year anniversary trip) l. Now, 25 years later, I came with my adult children, and the hotel and trip far exceeded my memories and expectations. We had a beautiful junior suite at the Piccolo with a water view. The food was outstanding. Stunning vistas. Friendly, caring staff. Convenient walking path to the center of the town. Lovely rocky beach with lounge chairs overlooking the water. Truly idyllic- start to finish. Highly highly recommend.

Wow, what a lovely place, exceptional staff and hospitality and very comfortable and only a few minutes walk to the main square of Portofino. The rooms are great the southern side has balconies overlooking a beautiful bay (with super yachts). The beds are very comfortable and great pillows. Access to the beach club is easy and included and how nice to enjoy a cocktail at lunch by the beach. But the true highlight is the terrace restaurant with its modern twist on the traditional Italian menu, and reasonably priced, a refreshing contrast to the standard fare offered in town and without the thousands of tourists!! We can’t wait to come back.

The staff is amazing, professional and always so helpful! For sure they deserve 5 stars! Also the staff at breakfast super! The hotel location is perfect, just few step away from the Piazzetta. It has also a private parking which for sure is a plus in Portofino! Beautiful views also over the bay and their private terrace/solarium is also breathtaking! Rooms are very spacious and with a beautiful balcony with a nice setting. Loved the balcony!! unfortunately very old, they need a nice overall refurbish, especially the toilet. Rooms dont provide complimentary water or tea/coffee facilities.

Nice hotel, great staff, a little pricey, but a nice stay. We had dinner in the dining room - food and service were great. Breakfast was good. Location is really good - close to Portofino. Room was clean and we had a beautiful view.

Great hotel and great location. Beautiful views from our sea view room 202. A little noisy at night and in the morning because hotel sits right on the road. Breakfast buffet was delightful every morning. Short walk into the square where everything is located.

Stayed here with my partner, it was a special occasion for my birthday and the hotel did not disappoint. The location was perfect and the views from the room were outstanding. The rooms were clean, slightly dated but as we expected for the hotels in this area. Staff were friendly, breakfast was great with lots of options. The pebble beach for the hotel is located directly opposite on the road and down the stairs, it is phenomenal. It has private sun loungers specifically for hotel guests which were available each day and it has a bar area outside in the cliffs. The walk to portofino main port is about 5-10 minutes. Definitely one of the best holidays I’ve had, would definitely recommend staying here. Only negative is that parking is not included in the price of the hotel stay. Having said that, the police were stopping all visitors from parking in portofino so it’s definitely useful to have parking at the hotel.

My wife and I from Australia stayed here as part of our honeymoon and loved the stay. We had the most perfect balcony room (303) and enjoyed the private beach as well as the breakfast. Every single staff member was so very helpful and accommodating and the service we received was impeccable. The location was also perfect as it was couple hundred metres away from the hustle of Portofino! Thank you to all the staff - we can't wait to return and recommend this hotel to all our friends and family.
