My wife and I enjoyed an idyllic stay at the Hotel Orso Bruno in Urio, Lake Como in June 2024. It is really such a lovely hotel and I would highly recommend visiting this hotel if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway. It is a small boutique hotel with just 10 rooms, each with different features. You must request for a room with a lake view because not all of them have views of the lake - some rooms have much better views than others, so book early! One of my favorite things about this hotel is the staff - everyone was so pleasant and friendly - we felt as if we were being taken care of by a big happy family. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was lovely, with a beautiful view of the lake and a really tasty and healthy breakfast with home-made cakes and jams. Something I looked forward to every morning. There is very limited parking so book ahead to secure a parking spot if you are driving. The best thing about the hotel is that the Urio ferry dock is literally right at the doorstep, which makes it really convenient to catch the ferry to Como or Bellagio/Varenna/Menaggio. One word of advice - Urio is a tiny little village hence there is not much to do in Urio itself. We used it as a base to make day trips to Bellagio, Como and Varenna. The ferry ride to Bellagio takes 1.5 hours though so be sure to factor in enough time for the journey. Also, there are very limited ferries - for example from Urio to Bellagio there are only 2 ferries that depart at 0954 and 1037 in the morning and 2 return ferries from Bellagio at 1400 and 1710.

The hotel is very large, the equipment is very new, and the room price is reasonable! It’s just a little far away from the city center. During my trip to Northern Italy, the best pizza I ever had was in Lake Como (pictured)

Stayed here for 2 nights, for the price the room is great, comfortable bed, spacious and clean. Bathroom is fine, the shower is quite small so bear this in mind. Breakfast was great, lots of sweet options like pastries, tarts etc. Location was 5 minutes or less from the train station so very convenient and 5-10 mins from the ticket place to get the ferry to Bellagio. Overall the hotel was perfect for what wanted and great value for the price.

My stay at Hotel Raffaello was brilliant. The staff were amazing, the breakfast buffet was exquisite with a variety of food options, I had no issues with the internet, the hotel bar was great (and so was the bar tender), and I really loved my shower. The only negative with the economy single was that the size was a bit smaller than anticipated. The hotel location was perfect for me as it is within walking distance to two tram stops (1 and 5 mins away) making it well connected. It was not too central, which is great because it meant that the area was less crowded and quieter than if it were located closer to the center. I would recommend the hotel to anyone, for sure!

I have never been more pleasantly surprised than visiting this hotel. I was looking for an affordable hotel with a good location, so my expectations was mediocre. First impression couldn't be better with an amazing lobby, friendly service, and quality design throughout. The room was equally stylish, super clean, and with great space. Icing on the cake, I had forgot my shaving kit, but after visiting the reception they gave me a free shaving kit. I will definitely choose this hotel next time Im going back to Milano. It was honestly my best hotel experience!

Here is my story with this hotel. I booked a double room in the address show on google. When me and my boyfriend arrived the hotel, we were led to a completely different seperate building which is 300 metres far away from the hotel. When I showed my confirmation letter, hotel tried to claim I booked seperate building but I DID NOT. The guy in the reception came up with a solution and offered a tiny single room (attached) to us which was completely unacceptable. He said he will refund the money. I did not get any money back, neither I stayed in the hotel. I would not recommend anyone experiencing this. I am still trying to get a refund. Hotel was not helpful on this matter. There are much better options and metro goes nearly everywhere in Milan!

GGuest UserThe studio was located in the old town, 9 mins away by feet from the Saint Mary Assunta Cathedral and 12 mins away by feet from the ferries' piers. Self check in was possible (though I was offline, so opted for standard check in). Great staff. The studio was spacious, clean, with all the amenities I needed. Bed and pillows were very compfy. Wifi was available for free. Self check out was simple.

A bit overshadowed that my room was on the first floor with a window to the courtyard, it was pretty noisy even with earplugs ... And a rather modest breakfast compared to hostels for the same price. GGuest UserThere is nothing bad I can say about our stay at this hotel. The location is excellent everything you want is within a short walking distance. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the staff on reception went above and beyond to help me out with a boat trip I had booked through someone else, which was cancelled at the last minute. They tried very hard and succeeded in arranging another trip at very short notice, which meant so much to me as it was one of the highlights of the trip. Our room was at the back but still with nice views, the room itself was lovely with a very nice bathroom and huge walk in shower. There was everything you would want at breakfast, even a glass of prosecco if you wished. I usually went for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs but there was lots more to choose from, bacon, mushrooms, hams, cheeses, fruit, pastries, cereal, yoghurts ect and to top it off the room itself was beautiful and overlooked the lake. We ate in the restaurant on the first day and had an excellent meal, again with very helpful friendly staff. At the front of the hotel there is a terrace area where you can sit and enjoy drinks and snacks, a lovely area to enjoy pre dinner cocktails. I would highly recommend this hotel and Lake Como.

Quarto e banheiro super espaçosos com muitos lugares para colocar malas e roupas. O café da manhã simplesmente perfeito. GGuest UserMy wife and I recently enjoyed a memorable six night stay at Villa Flori. There’s so much to like about this hotel but the key for me is it’s lakeside position, with the road behind it, which gives uninterupted views across the lake and over to Como town. Breakfast in the garden at the water’s edge, watching the lake come to life with boats and wildlife and stunning mountainous scenery as a backdrop was a magical experience. The breakfast selection was excellent and the staff took care of every little detail to make sure our days started perfectly. Our top floor room was well laid out and comfortable with a bath and, most importantly, a balcony that gave us incredible, wide-angle, views over the lake. We enjoyed evenings just watching life go by on the water, rowers, seaplanes, birds and ferries all doing their thing as the sun set behind us. The location is superb as a base for exploring the area. Como town is 15 min walk mostly through garden parks and waterfront paths. There’s a ferry stop at Tavernola, a few mins walk north, which gives access to all the main towns and many smaller villages. You can also book a boat taxi to collect you at the hotel wharf, or travel by car, bicycle or bus. An all-round excellent hotel in unrivalled location with dedicated and professional staff. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Como (I hope we do).

A lovely welcome from reception and we had a glass of Prosecco on arrival to take in the amazing view. It really is stunning. We had a suite with a balcony and patio area - again the view was amazing! There was a fridge and kettle in the room along with the usual compliments tea coffee etc. We had dinner which was very enjoyable as was the breakfast next morning. We had a good nights sleep, bed was very comfortable. Parking is available at the front of the hotel and we didn’t struggle to find a spot. The drive up to the hotel is quite twisty and can be slow, but again the views are amazing and well worth it when you arrive at the hotel, especially to be greeted by the lovely staff and not forgetting the amazing view. We booked direct with the hotel and would stay here again.

GGuest UserMy second stay here having stayed in 2018 but wow how Como has changed! It is indeed very touristy now. I asked for the same room as I had last time but after a second night or poor nights sleep from the loud music on the square and the rubbish bottle bins being collected during the night it became unbearable. I was moved to the loft room which was far better however, there was a strong “drain smell” in the rooms, I wished I had brought my pillow spray! The receptionist desk was often unmanned and at times I felt I was treated more like a nuisance than a guest. Given the reception is not manned during the night you just have a spy hole on the doors of the bedrooms for the comfort of travellers, especially solo ones. The staff were usually quite kind and it was great to see a few familiar faces from my last visit. This hotel was amazing last time however standards seemed to have dropped. The luggage storage area didn’t seem particularly safe just a cupboard off the kitchen where I could go and collect my bag without anyone challenging me on where I was going and what I was doing. The area outside was costly for breakfast which I enjoyed and to have drinks in the evening.

The bathroom and shower room are shared with others, but they are clean and you still have a single your own room with such a resonance price.

GGuest UserI love this place for its location near a huge forest great for running and cycling - even on a freezing winter morning! It was a good price, well organised, friendly staff and very clean. It is away from most things near an industrial estate but I chose it for the proximity to the forest and all the trails there :) It was also a simple walk to a small town with pizza and some basics. I didn't have the breakfast as it seemed quite expensive and was too busy running ;)

JJack GillettOn the plus side, Hotel Bazzoni has a wonderful location, a very good view from the room balconies over Lake Como, and a terraced garden going up the hill with several swimming pools and bars. Included breakfast and a buffet supper which was good. The bar on the ground floor is also stunning. On the minus side, ***y things about the hotel are wanting. When we arrived, we were told it was fully booked and our reservation had been transferred to the sister (and much cheaper) hotel Britannia down the road. We were taken down to see it, but the room was dank and nasty, after a hard argument they agreed to reinstate us in Bazzoni. We were also chased on the final day to check out promptly - our Trip.com booking was for 11am check out but we got a call at 10.30 telling us this had been moved forward to 10am and we needed to check out promptly as they had ***y arrivals that day. The room also lacked water, coffee/tea-making facilities and slippers, and everything extra is chargable - including 5 EUR for an additional keycard (non-refundable...) and 2 EUR for a jug of water at supper. On balance, I would avoid this hotel in future - but if you chose it, come ready to argue for what you already paid for.
