Hotel Villa Mozart y Macondo

Awesome place

This is a rundown hotel. The published rating has no relations to what you get. On arrival heated arguments demanding cash in advance and that they have no ability to charge credit cards, which is all we had. We said we will pay tomorrow, and a CC charge unit popped up. Be prepared - no one speaks English, and hard nose attitude. We lived out of the suitcase since there were no cabinets or drawers. Floor is painted concrete. It is not on the beach and requires 300 meter walk, then very steep 157 stairs to get down to it. Room was not very clean. There was no hot water, then after complaining for four days they turned on the hot water. We woke up at sunrise due to none sun-blocking curtains. WiFi super slow with frequent cutoffs requiring reconnect. The beach is not accessible as described. We noticed some visitors had a dog on the room.

Everything was perfect. The host is really an angel ! I wish we stayed longer.

+ Quiet and a short walk to the beach. - Lots of confusion and stress over payment as it showed on ******* I had already paid but they insisted I hadn’t. Had to call ******* and chat with agent online to sort out. Unnecessary. Overall expensive for what you get - which is essentially a room behind a restaurant, albeit in a nice garden.

The location is perfectly situated close to beautiful beaches to walk to and many wonderful restaurants--and is yet very quiet and peaceful at the same time. The garden is meticulously maintained and you feel like your in a tropical jungle. Rooms are top notch with great AC and ventilation, and balconies overlooking the gardens. And most importantly, the bed felt like a cloud in heaven! Make sure to ask Angélica for her recommendations for restaurants and in-room massage services. I was craving pizza and she recommended La Galería, where I promise you will savor the best pizza you have ever had! The next time I am in the Puerto Escondido area, I will return without question.

We just spent 5 days here and it was wonderful! Our hostess was awesome. The grounds were beautiful as were the resident parrots and of course the cat Mimi! It is very conveniently located to restaurants and beaches. We highly recommend this hotel.

We spend two nights in this beautiful location by playa Carrizalillo. The rooms are surrounded by vegetation and gives you the feeling to be in the jungle. Two cats and tropical birds live here too. Location is very convenient, right by the access to playa Carrizalillo and the main street with restaurants (we recommend El Cafecito, fast and competitive prices). Rooms are not too big but it was more than enough for us. They have a fan and airco, as well as a refrigerator. Beds are comfortable and king size. The hosts were very warm with us, giving us tips on the beaches we should visit, and arranged a taxi for our way on the airport for 130$, which would have been impossible of stopping a taxi on the street. Breakfast are not included but are good; locals stop by prior to heading to the beach.

Big ants kept getting into the room and I would have loved if the breakfast was open a little earlier.
