Katarino Spa Hotel

This was my first stay at Katarino SPA hotel and I hope it will not be the last - I really plan on visiting again in the summer season (I love going to the mountains in the summer). The SPA was great, even though they don't have an indoors kid's pool (since I have two kids this is kind of important for me). Still, we could spend 1-2 hours in the SPA with the kids and they liked it (the water in all the pools is warm). In terms of location - it is relatively close to Bansko, but you have to travel by car each day. Still, there are a lot of kids' activities taking place at the hotel's grounds - we took advantage of the free horse ride, but there were many others as well. Overall - another excellent hotel in Bulgaria! I can't wait to visit it again.

One of the best holiday resorts you can find in Bulgaria. Excellent indoors and outdoors facilities, very clean and well maintained hotel. Very professional and polite staff and great service. Extremely delicious and quality foods and drinks, big variety. Many of the foods served are all home made. Magical views and beautiful surrounding scenery. I would definitely recommend!

We visited the hotel at the end of July and here are my impressions Positive The hotel is located in the heart of the forest, a very pleasant and quiet place. It's so calm and away from the city so on the evening you can watch the stars. The rooms are large, the beds - very comfortable. We were accommodated on the first floor and had a huge terrace. The food is magnificent. Delicious, freshly prepared and healthy. The pools are nice, with warm water. The hotel is very suitable for families with children. There are many different entertainments for them. Negative There is no air condition in the hotel!!! If it is 35 C outside, it is hard to survive in a hotel without air condition. It's so hot inside the building. I really can't understand how is possible in such nice place to miss something so important. Cleanliness in the rooms is terrible. 4 days they didn't clean the balcony, the floor wasn't cleaned either, the beds weren't made. Luckily the towels, robes and sheets were clean. Young boys cleaned the walls of the pools, but all the dirt fell into the water. Pufff Otherwise, the staff is very nice and kind, and for a short break, the hotel is wonderful. If u have small kids, u will enjoy the place.

Great getaway from the hot weather, good staff, the food is soon tasty and lovely... The spa is clean and very comfortable, the rooms are also great and clean, spacious and cozy... We have been more times and we like it a lot, it's in the wood, quite place for relaxing and breathing clear air

I would like to greet the staff of the Katarino Spa Hotel for the perfect hotel service in each aspect: cleanliness of the rooms and common areas, restourant service with variety and tasty choices of food for breakfast and dinner, children animation, cleanliness of the pool with excellent tempriture, variety of the spa suggestions.

We’ve visited this hotel a few times over the past few years. The location is excellent with beautiful views of the mountains (that is if your room is facing them). Unfortunately the bigger apartments all face the opposite side which has nothing to offer other than constant noise from the main entrance, parking lot and employees rest areas. This might not be a problem in the winter time but during the summer it makes a difference. The rooms are getting a bit old and outdated. So are the bathrooms. The pool and spa are nice. The spa team is amazing - they offer great services. The restaurant is good. The food is a bit hit and miss: the barbecue is dry and flavourless. The variety is not as big. The service and people are the hotel’s biggest assets. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful, going above and beyond to please.

The hotel has an incredible location, offers a great food and you can see the restaurant makes a great effort to keep top quality of food and service. Apart I would recommend the kids pool to be cleaned every day, children can’t hold their needs. Also I don’t understand what do 3 adults with one child in the pool?! Some guests received wine from the restaurant as a gift and there were some gifts for the babies but not for all. I doesn’t look good if you don’t treat all the guests in one way!

Yesterday we left the hotel after a 6 night stay. The hotel is one of the best I have ever been. It is very clean, all the hotel stuff is very friendly and ready to help although not all of them understand basic English. Room was above expectation with a very big balcony, all the furniture and other accessories in good shape. The breakfast and dinner was exceptional! Usually when there is a buffet, food is average. At Katarino, the food is great, you can surely find something on your taste. Fish every dinner, pork, chicken, veal. A lot of greens and salads. Sweets are also home made. Pasta for grown ups and children. One of the best calamari I have eaten in a buffet. At breakfast everything is tasty. The only 3 minuses I find in this hotel and should be improved are: - The coffee was a minus for me. Best coffee in the hotel is the Nespresso in the room. Also the coffee from the bar is poor. I would have paid more for a good coffee. You should have a good one at least at the bar. - The cocktails are also a great minus. We have ordered 3 different types and all have been poor. - at dinner you should have free tap water. For charge in the bottle, but at least give people the option of tap water. Spa is above a 4 star hotel. The swimming pools are spacy and the whole are is clean. We have also taken a massage for 50 minutes, and for the quality it has, it is cheap 75 Leva. If i knew it would be this great the massage i would have booked daily a massage, it s worth every penny. Even the guy from ski rent equipment has been very nice. We were here with 2 other families. Each one had a child between 5 an 6. The children have mega fun in this hotel. Each day swimming pool, bowling, hockey. They had also great fun! I would come over and over again at Katarino. Congratulation to all the team!

Big hotel with spa, very expensive for the quality and interior design. You will have breakfast and dinner at the price that you are paying. Rating the food from 1 - 10 ( 5 ). You will have a lot of things in the spa center. It's not so big and bad thing Is that spa is working from 09:00h. Not worth for money.
