Holiday Inn Express ST. Albans - M25, Jct.22

We have just come back from a 2 night stay. We chose this hotel as its a 30 minute drive from Wembley and wasn't expensive like the other hotels. We arrived 2 hours early for check in however the gentleman at reception checked us in no problem and gave us access to our room. Our room was a good size with a double bed and additional pull out sofa bed. The room was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay such as an iron, kettle, hairdryer and towels. There was even a little sign in the bathroom letting us know if we had forgotten anything just let them know. Breakfast both days was lovely with plenty of choice. It did get busy towards the end but we were advised of this on check in. We didn't get back from Wembley till 3am this morning but after a quick email to reception at half 7, they sorted out late check out so we could have a bit more sleep before our 4.5 hour journey home. The staff here work so hard and it seemed to be the same 2 faces our entire 3 day stay. I honestly don't know how they do it and keep smiling. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely return.

We stayed here 3 nights left yesterday (8th august 2022) On entering there was a definite musty smell like a care home !! It is so dated similar to faulty towers !! very 70s The room with the leather chairs was where the smell was coming from The conservatory room reminded me so much of a care home not a great feeling as my mum was in one for 3 years brought back memories that I didn’t want to remember!! The room itself was so small , (room 19) we think the bed was not a full size double bed , I actually fell out of it on turning over in the night !! The bathroom was dreadful shower doors broken and a definite smell of sewage !! It looked like it all needed ripping out it was the smallest bathroom we have ever seen coming out I knocked against the toilet every day !! We got clean towels and the bed made every day Staff were lovely , breakfast good The room itself had no air conditioning we had the window open all night but it was super hot and didn’t cool down at all so no good night sleep to be had from me or my husband!! We paid nearly £400 for the 3 nights which we feel was a lot of money for such a bad room I am writing this review as we thought it was going to be lovely and we were so disappointed On the Ardmore hotel reviews it sounded really good but no photos of bathrooms!! Please be aware I never write reviews but I feel this time I need to
Premier Inn St Albans City Centre Hotel

The room was clean and well presented . Check in was made more difficult as the screen did not work for both ourselves and others which meant waiting for a receptionist to man the desk. She was polite and efficient. The breakfast was good. Parking was limited and we paid for parking on a nearby street . This turned out to be cheeped than the multi story car park even when the discount was applied Overall we were pleased with our two night stay in St Albans. This was the fourth forth hotel we stayed at and was certainly the best of the bunch
