I expected a great hotel stay and they delivered. All the staff were lovely. Thank you for that. My only issue is the lack of room information regarding what is available in the hotel. Normally I would expect marketing information and menus for restarunt and bar in the room. The TV does give room service menu but was not required. Fortunately we found Ben, the Concierge in the lobby who very kindly explained what we asked, and provided a map for the area. Very welcome. Thank you very much.

I stayed for five days. For the first four days, I was in a Kinabalu Wing mountain view room, which was very ordinary. On the last day, I moved to a Tanjung Wing sea view room, and that's when it finally felt like a vacation. It honestly felt like staying at two different hotels. The hotel's overall environment is undeniably beautiful, with many people coming from elsewhere just to watch the sunset. The pool is fantastic, and there are plenty of activities, though there's no direct beach access to the sea, and all water sports are chargeable. Breakfast was quite mediocre; it was the same every day with limited options, and it was often crowded with staff seemingly rushing to finish their shifts. The front desk staff were also quite rigid and their service felt perfunctory. The most highly recommended thing is the SPA – it was absolutely amazing, the best experience I've ever had.

Service: Absolutely fantastic! They provide complimentary waterproof phone pouches, raincoats, eye masks, and other little essentials. Plus, there are free iced drinks and, best of all, free laundry service – perfect for a trip to Sabah! The laundry is super fast too, and the housekeeper is very responsive to guests' needs. Facilities: Not great, actually. The space is small, and the apartment design has some issues. The shower stall has a tiny bathtub that's neither comfortable for a bath nor spacious enough for a shower. And the sink is a nightmare – water splashes everywhere the moment you wash your hands, so it feels like you're washing your hands and feet at the same time. Environment: It's an apartment within the Imago mall. Plane noise is quite noticeable, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're a light sleeper. Since everyone takes taxis around here, convenience of transportation isn't really an issue. There's also a fish noodle restaurant in the mall that wasn't very good. Cleanliness: Good. It was clean and tidy, with no visible stains.

The hotel's location is excellent, right on Gaya Street, making it super convenient for food, drinks, and exploring the Gaya Street Sunday night market. It's also close to the waterfront market, though we didn't visit the seafood market. Getting to Jesselton Point for island hopping is very easy from here. The only downside is that Tanjung Aru Beach is a bit far and traffic can be an issue when taking a taxi. I paid an extra 100 to book a sea-view room, and it was totally worth it – I could watch the sunrise and morning glow from bed. The room was also very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and overall, it offers great value for money!

The hotel's public areas are nice, but there's no beach. If you're looking for a beach, you might want to consider other hotels. The rooms were a bit humid overall, but apparently, all hotels in Kota Kinabalu are like that. The service was pretty standard, nothing special, just like any other hotel. A convenient feature is that there's a jetty right at the hotel, which is great if you're heading to Mantanani Island, as it's very close.

Stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The unit is suitable for two couples, a small family, or a group of four. The location is near town, which is very convenient. The owner is easy to communicate with. There is no deposit required upon check-in, and the check-in process is simple—just follow the given instructions. Check-out is also easy; just leave the key in the mailbox. The unit has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a small living room with a TV, and a small kitchen. A refrigerator is provided. The water heater works well, and there are 3 air conditioners. The TV has Netflix available, but you need to use your own account. The lift is fast and not crowded. For reference: Parking is paid parking — approximately RM3 for the first 2 hours, then RM1 for subsequent hours, up to a maximum of RM15 per day. There is no washing machine in the unit, but a laundry is available on the ground floor. Guests have access to the swimming pool. For Muslim guests: no sejadah (prayer mat) is provided, so please bring your own. Note: Hopefully, the owner can continue maintaining the unit to be more Muslim-friendly, as we would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you.

The Hyatt Centric was a fantastic experience! We arrived at 9 AM and asked the front desk if we could check in early. To our surprise, they had an available room and arranged it right away! After dropping off our luggage, we headed across to Suria Sabah Mall for some 'Ah Yen' and exchanged some Malaysian Ringgit at B1 according to the Alipay exchange rate. It's only 200m from the popular Sutera Harbour, which we visited twice. Gaya Street is also very close, just a 200-300m walk. The environment and service were both excellent. The hotel breakfast was incredible value for money. For a room that cost 800 yuan a night, the breakfast was à la carte, and the service staff spoke Chinese, making communication very easy. The variety of dishes was extensive, including Chinese, Western, Korean, and Southeast Asian options. I highly recommend the Indian bread with curry and the Beef Laksa from the à la carte menu – they were absolutely delicious!

Overall, it's a very good hotel. The environment feels brand new since it just opened. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The infinity pool upstairs is decent, nothing spectacular, but the water temperature was great. The daily housekeeping was excellent, very clean! For food delivery, you have to go downstairs to pick it up yourself. My flight was late, and when I asked the front desk, they kindly extended my check-out time until 2 PM for free, which was really helpful. Most of the staff can speak a little Chinese, so communication wasn't an issue. Laundry costs money, though. I wish the washing machines were free to use. The location is great for getting around by taxi – it's close and cheap to go anywhere. However, walking can be a bit tiring.

AMAZING!!!! The staff here! They are so unbelievably friendly and helpful. They truly made me feel so special and welcomed throughout my stay. Especially the ladies at breakfast and the guys at the door. I got the seaview room and that view was breathtaking! Front row seats to that sunset every day! The rooms are very clean and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable, would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The rooftop bar also has the best view of the sunset in my opinion. Breakfast was great, too- so much choice!

The honest review about this homestay is superb! We stayed here only 1 night and this homestay can accommodate up to 12 pax (adult + kids). The owner really helpful and answer all my questions during check in. This homestay facing with the spectacular view (golf resort & beach). Located above the Imago shopping mall, easy to find food too. Near to the homestay (around 1KM), we can buy souvenirs at Pasar Filipina (Anjung Kinabalu) and also eat seafood at Anjung Senja. I would like recommend this homestay to the others who will travel to Kota Kinabalu.

GGuest UserThe room was spacious and clean, with absolutely stunning views. There were so many fish around, you could snorkel right at the hotel, which was comparable to going on an island tour. The hotel is surrounded by a nature reserve, so we saw wild monkeys up close – even closer than in the mangrove forests! It was hilarious when a monkey came into the restaurant during breakfast and stole some fruit!

GGuest UserOur stay at Shangri-La Rasa Ria was truly a wonderful experience. The place is beautiful, relaxing, and perfect for families. The kids had so much fun enjoying the surroundings, exploring, and making happy memories together. We also loved the food — every meal was delicious and satisfying. What made the stay even more special was the warm hospitality of the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile, making us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. It was definitely a memorable trip filled with fun, relaxation, and quality family time. A place we would love to visit again someday. ❤️

GGuest User1. This is, hands down, the best hotel for watching the sunset. Unlike other city hotels where islands to the west often block the view, the sunset here is largely unobstructed. If you're lucky, you'll witness a breathtaking sunset that will be unforgettable. 2. The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable. I didn't spot any trash while walking through the garden, and I could comfortably walk barefoot on the paths without feeling any debris. 3. Although the facilities are a bit dated due to the long time since the last renovation, the quality is still very good. During my stay, half of the hotel was undergoing renovations, which caused a slight inconvenience. 4. The service is absolutely top-notch, truly five-star quality. However, I must mention that there were unexpected hazards everywhere, which was a bit concerning.

AAnonymous UserWe were lucky enough to get a room upgrade when checking in, offering a full ocean view. It was absolutely stunning and made me feel like we'd chosen the perfect hotel – a true beachside getaway is exactly what a vacation needs! The room itself was very spacious, and the bathroom was even bigger, cleaner, and brighter than it appeared in the online photos. We arrived late and caught the tail end of the sunset, and it only took a few minutes to walk down to the beach to see it. My friend and I aren't early risers, so we skipped Jesselton Point the next day and instead departed directly from the hotel's pier to Manukan Island. There were plenty of boat times available, and we took the 12:30 PM one. There's a dedicated boat for hotel guests, which also drops you back at the hotel – super convenient. If you want to visit The Magellan, the hotel also provides a shuttle bus. The Magellan is more family-friendly, but if you're looking for better value, The Pacific is definitely the way to go. However, I do have to mention that many of the hotel's facilities are quite old. The showerhead was leaking, and I hope they'll replace it soon.

TTravelwithBamThe staff friendliness is just amzing 10/10. Excellent Service. Our room had amazing view of the sea and opposite resort called Gayana. Dinner: Only Buffet option is available and its about RM167/person +taxes. The spread are fairly good and it is delicious. Though they do have 2 more different Restaurant in the island,Japanese and fine dining. Breakfast: Included in the room price. Menu changes daily. I have nothing to complaint about the room, for us its comfortable. All rooms have exactly the dane Designs the only difference is where it is located. You are paying for the view. Activities: For me I think 3 days 2 nights are perfect to spend your time here, swimming by the pool, kayaking, snorkling,Jungle trekking, visiting the private beach. 1 hour complimentary use of snorklinh masks. I like the public guests showers and towel provided.Very convinient. One thing that I would like to comment is the boat fees are relatively very expansive.15 mins speedboat per person one way cost about Rm80+taxes..Just return trip cost RM170++ per person. This is not even including island conservation fees and tourist fees. All this added fees makes the Hotel cost more expansive. Because a boat trip to nearby or same Island cost only Rm40. GAYANA ECO RESORT provided inclusive/complimentary return boat fees. I hope the Management can improve this because we as Guests are going to spend more money on F&B and at the Bar. Last but not least I would like to compliment the service and staffs in thsi Resort I think they did such an amazing job. Overalö the Resort is beautiful andclose to the nature.

GGuest UserIf you're going to the island, be mindful of the time and book your flight accordingly. The scenery here is beautiful, and the food suits Chinese tastes. However, there aren't many entertainment options; it's mainly about enjoying the view. I think a one-day visit is enough for a photo op; staying longer might get boring. If you stay more than two days, definitely try deep-sea diving – it seems really convenient!

MM532750****My stay at 'Fairy Tale Wonderland Resort' in Semporna completely exceeded my expectations. Let's start with transportation: the hotel offers a shuttle service that picks you up directly from the airport, which was a huge convenience. The driver was incredibly friendly and even gave us tips on where to exchange money and reliable dive shops. The accommodation was fantastic. The room had wooden floors and a high ceiling, and it felt clean and dry. The bed was super soft, and the pillows weren't flat at all. The big sea turtle plushie on the bed was absolutely adorable. Both the fan and air conditioning were quiet at night, ensuring a very restful sleep. The courtyard felt like a small garden with coconut trees, flower walls, and colorful signs. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the woven hanging chair and zone out; every photo I took turned out beautifully. The food deserves a special mention. For dinner, we ordered steamed crab, mantis shrimp, soy-sauce steamed fish, and a plate of water spinach. The freshness was undeniable, and the cooking was perfectly executed, bringing out the natural flavors of the seafood without being overly salty or greasy. Overall, the hotel's attention to detail in service was excellent: convenient transfers, clean and comfortable rooms, and high-quality food. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in Semporna, I highly recommend staying here.
