Unfortunately at the time when we were staying, there was construction at the beach. Access to the beach was closed. We have to walk all the way around for about 10 min to get to the beach. The location is great. Happy hour is a bonus. Live music in the evening.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place Vilano Beach. It was a close walk to a beautiful, clean beach. We were told the pool wasn’t warm, but turned out it was! We skipped swimming because we weren’t aware until it was too late. The breakfast was great and well stocked. We paid a little extra for a balcony but the view wasn’t good. Don’t waste your money on a balcony. We paid for valet parking which ended up not being necessary. There is plenty of street parking. It was overall a clean hotel and very friendly staff.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this venue for two nights for our trip to St. Augustine. The hotel was very clean and had been recently updated. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. We immediately felt comfortable there. On the first day, we went to breakfast at 9:30. There were no egg products available and a couple of bits of sausage. There were NO FORKS!!! We spoke to the person who oversaw the breakfast and she apologized and said there were no forks. I complained to the front desk and they agreed to take the parking charge ($20/day) from our bill. The following day, the breakfast was fully stocked, even forks! This hotel is a gem. Close to everything. We would definitely stay there again.

GGuest UserCheyenne at the front desk was awesome took care of all our needs. The people who gave out the food in the breakfast line I give a heads up on the black heavy set man who was friendly and professional. Not so much for the girl older girl in cutoff shorts who help him. Room was so clean and the pool awesome. Friendly housekeeping staff made us feel good. We stayed in room 131 and the only problem was the door to the bathroom could not close. Staff went out of their was to drive us anywhere we needed. I loved this place and would never look for any other place. Location is perfect right next trolley for tours and they pick you up at the hotel.

GGuest UserThe Ponce is an older hotel with plenty of charm and character, which was what I was looking for. It has been maintained and updated beautifully. The staff was very welcoming and accomodating. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. Amenities included pool, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, blow dryer, iron, ironing board, writing desk with chair, huge HD TV, and free WIFI. A guest laundry room is available. The Ponce is a 15 minute walk or short drive to the St. Augustine old historic site. Shopping, restaurants, and a salon and spa are also minutes away. The Ponce is on the water, and although the restaurant does not face the water, the view is beautiful. The hotel restaurant, the DeLeon, is a Colombian restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic! I can't wait to eat there again. I give the Ponce Hotel a rating of A+++++. I also must mention that I left a pair of diamond earrings in my room, and within an hour of checking out, Negar, the hotel desk receptionist, called me to let me know, and my earrings are being mailed to me. This honesty and going the extra mile is seldom seen today, and I was extremely impressed and grateful. Again,I rate them very highly and plan to return on my next visit.

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The recent reviews about the “ updated “ hotel and staff are all true. I did an advanced purchase ( big mistake ) I did digital check again which I always do at any Hilton I stay at and I am always asked for ID at check in just to veirfy and I’m on my way. I DO understand a pre auth charge for parking , any hotel charges etc is put on your card at check in. However, the front desk associate named Sussane put a $150 charge plus a $602 pre auth charge on my card . The $602 was for the advanced purchased I already paid before my stay that did NOT need to be on my card on top of $150. So $750 total pre auth for a $600 pre paid stay? She blamed it on me and said I used digital check in. I ended up checking into room 413 which was disgusting. The tile was cracked . The blinds were broken. There was hair on the floor in the bathroom from the previous stay. I was in the car with my kids for 6 hours and they had the eat so I left the hotel and we decided we didn’t wanna stay there . They settled for a refund for 2 nights ( which I am still waiting for ). I’m told by Michael , the manager 5-7 business days. I’m told by Susanne at the front desk 7-10 business days. When you contact Hilton customer care they contact the hotel for you. I was the told refund was processed on Monday 3/25 then I’m told it’s processed on 3/27 the day I am calling to follow up. They did not want to refund for me for the full stay because I was at the hotel for “ longer then 20 minutes” and Sussane stated they were “ taking pictures of my car” to time how long I was at the hotel. This then goes back to my statement as I did not feel safe here . No where on Hilton does it state that I have a 20 minutes limit . If someone actually cared to look into this further I actually contacted Hilton directly a few days before my stay to try and cancel and get a refund as I was directed too as I read reviews online about this hotel. Upon check out ( and I never slept here ) when the manager Michael was looking at the charges he did say I see what you’re talking about and he reversed the $602 back to me as IT WAS NOT supposed to be there and explained the $150 was only to be on there. Again all okay. ( I have screen shots to prove all this as well) but to be blamed by Sussane the front desk Employee for $602 pre auth charge for using digital check in that Hilton offers is absured, and unprofesional. At times when I called Sussane was very rude . She actually yelled at me about the pre auth charges when she told me I did my self . It’s like she yelled to get a reaction out of me ( which she did) just so she can hang up. Please, look else where for a hotel stay in the historic district. This hotel looks nothing like the pictures and is if need of a serious upgrade. This hotel would probably succeed if they actually took care of it better and address their front desk staff.

GGuest UserThe cleaning staff is very hard working. The room was great for the price besides from the sticking door. Breakfast was what expected and parking was a plus. Landscape died. Courtesy and service at the counter needs to be a bit better. Keys deprogrammed daily. Water pressure at sink was insufficient but shower worked well. Lobby, specially the feeble signature oak staircase gives you a cheap and haunted welcome and feels unsafe....what were they thinking? For the price, i shouldn't be complaining...but it takes so little to improve the experience. So, why not?

GGuest UserWe book at a hotel monthly and this is BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD AND THE 1st BAD REVIEW I HAVE EVER LEFT! Where do I start?! We came for our daughters 11th Birthday. First of all the place looks like a roach motel surprisingly but the rooms are okay (just okay) so no big deal but the first issue was arriving and seeing that the pictures and amenities listed are complete false advertisement, they picture a hot tube on choice hotels (false), then says “beachfront access” when in fact it’s a 10 minute walk with 3 kids that anyone can access to get down to the beach but we got over that easily. Then, we go in the room and under the sink is what looks like mop water (now that I noticed it) and I slipped and threw my back out at 29 years old, still was not going to complain. (Even slammed my shin on the bed frame that is sticking out in the wall way but covered by the bed skirt) But then I could not sleep because I was in serious pain so me and my husband were on our balcony (myself in a chair because standing was too painful) literally whispering because the place echos horribly and our 9 month old was sleeping while our my son and daughter were laying down, and while sitting in silence (but had been whispering before) the night clerk “Micheal” came around the corner screaming at us that we need to stop screaming because he was getting complaints while he was 10x louder than we had been all night . He first said that he knew it was us because we were the only ones outside (but people had obviously been in and out all night) but then I WHISPERED “is he serious?” To my husband and in return Micheal continued to keep his raised voice and said that he had just done his rounds a few times and knew it was us, although our hair was still dripping with water from being in the shower and had not seen him at all that day. I was in complete disbelief but I allowed him to continue ranting his threats while walking away, but he was belligerent and his threats didn’t make sense, one was “you’ll be gone and I don’t mean on a jet plane!”, so I said “what did he just say?” Under my breath to my husband (in a sarcastic tone) and it set him off saying the jet plane threat again (which kind of gave a comedic value to it at least), but what wasn’t funny was him walking towards us again and aggressively at this point. It was very disgusting and unwarranted behavior seeing as my husband stayed silent and my only 3 comments were “we have been inside and then whispering out here sir, So I’m not sure who it was” before I knew he was accusing us instead of asking who is was) , “is he serious”, and “what did he say”. My newly 11 year old was inside crying and scared that he would hurt her parents, and the kicker is HE WOKE UP our 9 month old despite her sleeping the entire time that he claimed that we were “screaming”. This was so disgusting that we are leaving our non-refundable stay tomorrow night to pay for a room somewhere else!

MMtnGal12Very nice room that is clean, spacious, and airy. On the second floor, there is a handy access to a balcony to step outside and observe the area. The staff are polite and accommodating and the breakfast is adequate. During my stay, a hurricane was approaching (see the photo!) so the pool was closed and some amenities were not available, but still had a delightful stay! Fully recommend this hotel to anyone in the area. Plus, downtown and historic St. Augustine are worth a visit, there are a lot of things to see and enjoy.
