Hotels near Webster Groves Sculpture Park, St. Louis

When we first arrived the counter attendant did not have our reservations. I had to call Trip to get it straightened up. It was finally done but it took an extra 30 minutes.

We had a great time visiting STL and staying at Clayton Plaza was part of that. Our room was clean and seems to be newly updated. The free breakfast was delicious.. My son swam in the pool each day .. The staff was nice and helpful.. I had an evening when my shower didn't start ( digital shower) and they were quick to take care of the situation. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to come back some day.

At check in we were told that, in order to receive standard housekeeping services, we needed to explicitly request daily cleaning (”because COVID”). We confirmed that yes, we wanted our 2 rooms cleaned daily. We were out of our rooms the next morning until 10PM, at which time we returned to find that our rooms were not cleaned. When we brought the matter to the front desk clerk, she adopted a petulant attitude and told us that the rooms were not cleaned because there was a ”do not disturb sign” on both rooms' doors. Both of us knew that this was not true, but the statement did its job insomuch as it allowed the desk clerk to avoid accountability and get back to scrolling TikTok. I asked that she confirm our that our housekeeping request was in place for the next night and she mumbled confirmation. As we walked out the next morning we saw the housekeeper in the hallway and asked that our room be cleaned. She said that she would do so. We also stopped at the front desk and confirmed that our room would be cleaned that day. Upon returning that night we found our rooms in the same condition we left them in the morning. I realize that there was a time before we all learned about the airborne nature of COVID transmission that it made sense to be cautious and minimize the chance of infection by minimizing the possibility of contact. Given the benefit of a few years of data and common sense, that time ended years ago. Hotels know that, and we as guests know that, yet some properties continue to leverage the 2020 COVID pandemic as an excuse to provide less/fewer services. That's shameful. I suggest that Drury and other value hotels stop presenting a diminished service offering to their guests under the guise of non-sensical and out-of-date health protocols while giving their employees a pass on doing their jobs.

Breakfast is included in the hotel. The breakfast is traditional Western food. The burger scrambled egg patties are served with yoghurt, coffee and fruit. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the rooms are fully equipped; there is parking lot and wireless network; there is Wal-Mart store next to it. Wait.

Initially, I thought this was my new ”go to” for my frequent St Louis business trips. Since 2018, my work has me traveling about 70 days per year, mostly in MSP and STL...thus far IGH is my chain of choice. The decor is very nice, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Since I was planning to do some work in the hotel, after hours, I opted for their King Suite (their best rooms, I believe). Very nice and functional furnishing, and almost everything was operational (no microwave, and the door was sticky due to an apparent break-in)...but the mini-fridge made ice blocks of my soda, yogurt and water (minor stuff). Otherwise, they've done a good job with their on-going renovation. My initial satisfaction with this location was short-lived. Around 8pm, I heard a series of loud thumps outside my bedroom window...then cheering and hooting. After a few minutes, I went outside to investigate. As I walked to the side of the building, near my windows, I found two Cornhole games within a few feet of my room. Not sure who thought that would be a good idea but the games went on well past 10pm, and I had to call the front desk twice to ask if they could intervene. This is a deal-breaker for me...I've had 10 nights here, and really wish I stayed somewhere else. Live and learn - It seems they're not trying for business travelers at this location...will be at La Quinta going forward.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location if you are looking to go to a Cardinals game, the zoo, or other downtown attractions. The area it sits in has multiple options for fast food or sit down dining. The Galleria mall is minutes away. The hotel staff was very friendly. There is a great sitting area outside with chairs and a fire pit. The rooms are modern and clean. The bathrooms are fantastic with awesome showers. I would request a room that does not face the freeway as you can hear traffic. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be however you can hear sirens and very fast cars in the middle of the night. There is not free breakfast or coffee in the lobby and the breakfast is overpriced for what you get. However there are many options nearby. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and one across the parking lot. This is why I gave four instead of five stars. We stay in this area every year and we will come back.

It was 105 degrees when we pulled into St. Louis, our 3rd stop on a cross-country trip. So sadly, we were not able to explore the area much at all, as the hotel is situated not far from Wash U in an area that seems really interesting. Check-in was a breeze, staff wore face masks, our room was quiet, clean, nicely decorated, good bathroom, comfortable bed. There is lots of moon & space decor throughout the hotel, Jetson-esque furnishings, definitely a theme going on. The restaurant was not open due to lack of staff, but there was 1 chef working and we ultimately decided to eat in the (enclosed) rooftop bar (it was a Monday, many places were closed). The bar staff could not have been nicer, the drinks were good, food was .. pretty good and definitely acceptable for a nosh-type dinner.

The location is very good, very close to the arch, the family likes hilton's bed very much, Ctrip's booking is super cost-effective, and breakfast is given as a gift. The hotel is not very convenient for parking. On the opposite side, parking is about 27 dollars a night.

Location in proximity to city attractions is amazing 5/5. Location in terms of safety is 2/5. There isn’t a covered secured lot for your car and I was approached by many people asking me for money while taking a walk around the building. Service is hit or miss. When I arrived, and attempted to open my car door, I was accosted by the valet who yelled at me and asked me what I was TRYING to do. I told him I was checking in to the hotel. And he was aggressively unpleasant, seemingly angry that I had arrived. Conversely, the valet attendant the next day was polite and wonderful. The front desk was nice but did not review any of the amenities nor offer any information about the hotel, which is a shame. Nice but inattentive and uninterested. The service at both Idol Wolf and Good Press were 5/5. The food at both were 5/5. The hotel itself is gorgeous. There’s art set in an old gym. The renovation is well done. Enjoyed it very much. The view from the room was also very nice. The room itself was standard with a few attention to detail things needing addressed. Such as broken handles and non working bathroom fixtures. Overall would recommend this hotel because it is unique. Big plus - they allow pets!!! Yes!
