We picked this place in beautiful Saint Paul de Vence as it was one of several restos recommended by the friendly staff at the tourist information counter. It’s also because we thought it would be nice to have lunch in a place right in the middle of everything, next to the fountain…and the shop selling gelato. Lol. La Fontaine is a cosy little place, and family-run. We were the first to arrive and dined out on the terrace. For drinks, my friend had the “Red Witch” (yikes), made of strawberry juice, rhubarb bitters and pepper, while I had the refreshing “Le Gouter d’Alice” with biscuit syrup, lemon cream, lemon juice and Italian meringue. (A bit like drinking a lemon tart!) There’s also a drink called “Evil Queen” (haha), made of apple juice, tonic juice and almond syrup. We had their two most popular dishes - the Daube of Beef Chuck (braised slowly for nine hours, to perfection) and the Aioli du Moment, with seasonal fish and Lactonesa (eggless mayo) with black garlic. My beef stew dish looked way more appetising and as expected, the meat was tender and fell away easily. The potato was lovely but very filling. The fish aioli dish was nice too, but the photo doesn’t do it justice. I was so full that I had to skip dinner!!

The food was good - we had the tomato burratina and the houmous salad - but the wine was very pricey. We sat on the terrace which was very pleasant. St Paul is busy and the restaurants clearly do most trade at lunchtime so they want you to eat as well as drink.

recu en cadeau une wonderbox 3 jours , 2 nuits a l,hostellerie de la fontaine , sejour très moyen : pas de verre ni gel douche dans la chambre , serviette de toilette tachée par de la javel , boite de café en poudre semie ouverte avec un fon d de cafe séché , pas de chambre faite entre 2 nuits et forte odeur de cuisine remontée dans la chambre !!!! visiblement cet hotel ne repose que sur son emplacement ideal en pleine zone pietonne du village !!! decevant !! j 'oubliais !! recus par une employee au pull tout taché!! vraiment decevant!!

Excellent restaurant, à taille humaine, situé dans le haut du village, quel bonheur de l'avoir trouvé, un peu par hasard. Les repas sont très copieux, le calme absolu et les tarifs, bien que dans la moyenne haute, sont totalement justifiés par la qualité des repas. A recommander sans hésiter.

En nous promenant dans les rues de Saint Paul nous avons découvert ce resto. Jolie petite terrasse ombragée Accueil très sympa Bonne cuisine excellent tiramisu ananas et fruit de la passion Nous avons passé un très bon moment au cœur du village

Accueil super !!! Hôtellerie au top. La chambre est superbe et super bien !!! La restauration 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞... que dire des gnocchis à la truffe, de la soupe de butternut et des desserts ? PARFAIT !!! Endroit génial !!!!

Magnifique ! Quelle belle surprise, loin du tumulte touristique et à l abri d une jolie terrasse vous découvrirez une adresse qui vaut le detour. Un accueil parfait et chaleureux et surtout une cuisine délicieuse et audacieuse. On retournera avec grand plaisir.

Un attrape touristes à éviter Un camembert au four qui n’est qu’un demi camembert sans crème Un tartare à la truffe qui est parfumé à la truffe synthétique Des piqqles de cèpes qui sont des champignons de Paris Et en plus ce n’était pas bon du tout Une arnaque totale

Nous sommes tombés par hasard dans ce restaurant lors de notre balade dans le village. On a tout de suite était attiré par la mention « maître restaurateur » indiqué sur la devanture de l’établissement. C’est très souvent un gage de qualité et ce fut le cas, nous nous sommes régalés, les saveurs, la présentation, la qualité des ingrédients tout y est pour passer une agréable soirée. La terrasse est intimiste et le personnel très serviable et sympathique, nous vous le recommandons vivement !!!!
