We have stayed in Gardone many times, but this was our first time at the Savoy Palace. This is a lovely hotel, well situated for access to the lake, ferries and buses, shops, and some good restaurants. The hotel is immaculate wherever you look, with lovely furnishings and many beautiful antiques. It is clearly well managed and maintained, with lovely gardens, and a pool surrounded by sun beds. We had a room with a large terrace, 2 chairs and a table and 2 sun beds, and tea and coffee facilities were also provided. The room was very clean, with good quality bedding and towels replaced daily. The half board dinner menu is varied, but perhaps needs tweaking slightly for British tastes, although you can choose from the a la crate menu at extra cost. Breakfast provides a great variety too. The restaurant is led very efficiently and calmly, and all the staff are friendly and professional. The reception staff are also very informative and professional, and Karen in particular gave us a lot of help and advice about the local area. If anything could be improved upon a more comprehensive room directory could be useful for new visitors to the area, and most British guests felt that 7.30 was quite late for the evening meal.
