Hotels near Half Price Books in San Antonio

Most Doubletree hotels offer a reliable comfortable experience, but my recent stay at the Doubletree San Antonio Airport was horrible on all fronts: - the hotel would not issue a digital room key to my Hilton app, so I tried to check in at the front desk. But there was no one there. I waited for at least 5 minutes until a person sauntered out from the back room. - Check in agent was surly. No recognition of Hilton Honor status, and no cookie. But no big deal. I went to the room. - hallway was dark and dingy and smelled musty. - there were two dirty coffee cups outside the room door. They had clearly been there for a while. - once in the room, the walls were so thin I could hear EVERYTHING in the rooms next door. It was loud and one neighbor’s loud activities (which were beyond “R” rated) went on until well after 4 am. I got no sleep. - the bathrooms are tiny and dark. - the parking garage is not attached to the hotel and requires that you go outside to access it. Overall, I will never book at this hotel again and would recommend you avoid it at all costs!

I am giving just 3* instead of 5* because of our problem checking in. We have stayed at many Holiday Inns & never had a problem finding our room. However this Hotel is an exception. Upon check-in we were told our room was # 315. The clerk said to get there drive your car to level C & then take the elevator to level 3. O.K. We park at level C, get our bags & proceed along a walkway to an outside door that goes into the hotel. As we approach the door it is opened by someone going out so we do not need to use our room scan card to open it. We find the room which was on the same level & try to open the door. Nothing worked. We call the front desk & the clerk says that she will bring us another card. We wait & wait & wait. Call the desk again. The clerk says where are you?. We say outside of #315. You were not there says the clerk. What ! Are we invisible? Anyway after much talk we & the clerk finally realize that we are in the WRONG Hotel. Yes,, the Drury Hotel shares the same parking garage & we are in the Drury.. We exit the Drury into the same parking garage & see another door around the corner. This one does lead to the Holiday Inn. After 30 min we are in our room. What a bunch of crap. On it's good side, we did have a full Hot Breakfast. Nice but small pool.

I stayed here because I had a very early flight from the San Antonio airport. They scheduled a taxi for me at 4:30 AM, and the driver was waiting for me when I went down to the lobby. The room was clean, and everything worked. The staff was very helpful. There are no restaurants of any sort within walking distance. There are some sandwich vending machines in the hotel. I got an egg burrito from one of them, and it was edible. My suggestion to the management, though, is to extend the food choices.

Great hotel, with shuttle to airport and from. Near mall, room has a bag of popcorn and coffee machine. They have toothbrush and toothpaste on request and gave me a check in at 2pm.

It is convenient to go to the airport. The hotel Ubers to and from the airport. The staff is helpful! The breakfast is warm and fulfilling! Will stay here again!

Just went for a visit to SA while in town with some friends in Corpus and stayed here. From the moment we walked in the front desk staff and managers were smiling and so helpful. We later had the pleasure of meeting Arturo at the front desk who went above and beyond to make our stay that much more comfortable and fun. My husband talked with him forever about the history of the city and was just so impressed with his character. Then comes the Chef, Annette. I have never met someone so genuinely happy to introduce herself and make sure we were enjoying our stay. We chatted with her for a while too and she really just made our morning; before we headed out for the day. We were just in awe with the whole experience. Will be back every chance we get!!! PS- the general area for guests included pool and many boardgames for extra entertainment!!!

My colleagues and I stayed at this hotel. Our boss made a great choice. My room was nice and clean. I wanted a courtyard view but they were fully booked. However, my stay was great. The food they serve is really good. Get the fish tacos and Mexican corn. They are delicious. The shuttle driver Emeri was very kind and attentive. He loaded our luggage and helped us each out of the shuttle. He was a true gentleman. There was never a problem when we needed a nearby ride.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very clean and the rooms were so spacious. We are a family of 4 but our kids prefer to sleep separately. We've stayed at many hotels with 2 beds plus a sofa sleeper but we lose quite a bit of space in those type of rooms. These suite rooms at Home 2 suites are very spacious and comfotable with the queen beds as well!
