JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa

The resort itself was very nice — clean, well-maintained, and overall a good experience. However, the valet parking service was a major disappointment and really affected the overall impression of my stay. It took nearly an hour just to get my vehicle back. When the valet finally brought it around, I watched in disbelief as he drove directly toward one of the black rubber valet poles that are supposed to help guide traffic. Instead of stopping or carefully avoiding it, he rolled down his window and started yelling for help to move it. Despite clearly seeing it was about to rub against my vehicle, no one assisted — everyone seemed too busy — and he continued to drive forward anyway. I was watching from a distance, trying to get his attention to stop, but he just went straight through, scraping the side of my truck and running over the base with both the front and back tires. Fortunately, my truck is white, so the rubber didn’t leave visible scratches. But if it had been a black vehicle, it could’ve caused noticeable damage. This level of carelessness is unacceptable, especially after paying a $90 valet fee. The resort deserves credit for its quality, but the valet experience needs serious improvement.

Crying baby ruined our night In for a quick anniversary weekend. Spent 2 nights listening to a crying baby. We booked a king suite with balcony thinking it would be away from families. It was horrible. They charge for self parking. Shade will cost you $250+. Too many people can’t find a place to sit. Food over priced Maybe better for families but not good for a couple getaway.

Recommend for Families The food is pricy but worth it. The pizza is a must to get. Bring your own pillow. Be prepared for noise and kids everywhere. Very family friendly hotel but still some good areas for adults to mingle. The water slides/pool areas are very nice and clean. All of the staff is super friendly. Go early if you don’t want to fight over a tube for rides.

Disappointed My family and I recently stayed at your property to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 4:30 PM and were assisted by Leticia at the front desk. Unfortunately, we were informed that our room was not yet ready. When we inquired about an estimated time for check-in, Leticia was unable to provide one. Instead, she stated that if we paid an additional $100 per night, she could contact housekeeping to prioritize our room. I expressed that I was not willing to pay extra and requested the same level of urgency regardless. Despite following up multiple times, we waited nearly two hours before receiving a room. During this time, we were left without updates or assistance, which was both frustrating and disappointing—especially during a special occasion. It wasn’t until a staff member named Curtis approached us and inquired if we needed help that we finally received prompt assistance. Curtis immediately apologized and found a room for us right away, for which we are very grateful. We have previously stayed at various resorts including Disney Resort, Orlando Resort, Great Wolf Lodge, and Kalahari, and have never encountered service of this nature during check-in. While the remainder of our stay was enjoyable and the accommodations were lovely, the check-in experience significantly impacted our first impression and anniversary celebration.

It was our first time at the property and my family absolutely LOVED the experience. We had a lot of friends recommend that we summer vacation with JW Marriott HC as opposed to flying to a summer vacation. We were very impressed and our kids had a blast. Activities were great, staff was incredible, convenience factor was awesome, I spoke with Daisy a manager there (I didn't request a manager, I just got lucky that she picked up the phone) and was super sweet and accommodated us incredibly well. The one thing that was a bit surprising was the price of food and beverages. I completely understand that it is a JW Marriott with a partnership, but it was a bit of a surprise to us (Full transparency). BUT we loved our stay, and we will definitely be coming back!

Home away from home! My family comes every summer. Plenty of things for the kids to do! Pools, slides & Lazy River are the best!! Always clean, staff is exceptional!! Beautiful property!
