So I'm here for two days staying in room 410. There are signs everywhere saying staff will wear masks but I didn't see any doing so. So I try checking in this morning on the hilton app and it won't let me select a room so I'll just deal with it when I get to the hotel. That was a mistake. I get here at 3:00PM today, and a maskless male employee at the front desk calls me ”boss”, doesn't thank me for being Hilton gold, and hands me a bag with two bottles of water in it. One of the elevators is broken. I get to my room and from the floorplan of this place, it's one of the smallest rooms at the property. It's nearly empty tonight and they put me as a hilton gold member in one of the smallest rooms on the property. There is not a single USB port in the entire room except for one on the back of the TV - don't forget your charger. This hotel has murky colored dim lighting in the form of compact florescent bulbs still in use everywhere in the room. The mattress seems clean, as do the linens. There are stains all over the walls. There is tape all over the smoke detector so I hope there isn't a fire. The furniture is beat up and has certainly seen better days. The showerhead is caked with mineralization and needs to be cleaned better or replaced. There was a hair on the wall. The caulk around the toilet is falling apart. There are spots of mold on the tiles in the shower and along some of the walls and ceiling. I had a lot of trouble connecting my devices to wifi so I gave up and just used my phone as a hotspot. The thermostat on the wall doesn't control the PTAC window unit. It took me forever to figure out you actually have to use the controls on the PTAC and not the thermostat to set the environmental controls. So I have no idea what this thermostat is for then. The tv is DirecTV so it's digital but has that too-soft overly compressed picture quality to it. Doordash delivers to the hotel and there are lots of options. My doordash driver Angel was super nice and friendly so there's that at least. The hotel itself is ”fine”. The staff themselves are fine but wish they were wearing masks like the signs say they would be doing and I wish they were friendlier and adhered to policy and didn't call me ”boss”. I feel like the hotel is overpriced for the condition the hotel is in. Some bleach in the shower to get rid of the mold, updated light bulbs, a new shower head, fixing the caulk around the toilet, and paint touchup on the walls would have made this room not feel so run down. It would have probably caused me to overlook all the scratches on the furniture. When business brings me back to the area - and it most assuredly will - I would not select this property again until improvements are made.

Residence Inn never disappoints, I must day hands down this is the best hotel I’ve stayed at. I travel 290 days out of the year and since day one the General Manager Christian welcomed me with open arms alongside his staff. Christian is very attentive and proactive when something comes up. His staff is highly trained, but the hotel is clean, and they have a beautiful courtyard with a pool, cornhole games, and a place to sit around the fire. If you’re looking to visit San Antonio, Residence Inn at The Rim is the way to go 👍🏼 Also, Six Flags Fiesta and Sea World are down the street 😉

Will never be coming back here again and would never recommend this hotel. There were multiple problems within our only two-day stay. When we arrived we were told that vallet is mandatory even though there is a guest parking lot less than a block away. When we asked about the guest parking lot they said that they wouldn't be liable for any damages if someone vandalized or broke into our car in the guest parking lot, insinuating that there WOULD be damages to our car. There was no information prior to our stay that told us the only parking option is valet. The attendant at the front desk went on to provide multiple horror stories of people having their car broken into strictly because they parked in the guest parking lot. After doing some research we found out that even in the valet, your car will be broken into. It was unnecessary for the person at the front desk to try these scare tactics and guilt us into getting the valet. After that, the front desk attendant proceeded to charge my wife's card for the room and for the security deposit even though I already provided them with my card prior to check in online and it was charged already for the room and for the security deposit. After checking in, we were told that there is no housekeeping service unless you pay a $90 fee and room service is not and option. The hallway leading to our room reeked of animal or human urine and trash was left unattended outside of multiple rooms. On one of the days the elevator had vomit in it that had not properly been cleaned. The hotel mentions that there are multiple eating options, most of which are temporarily closed. Would definitely not recommend staying here especially since they are considering themselves a luxury resort.

We booked this hotel to be close to a local hospital while caring for a family member and the location was perfect for us. It is close to major freeways and tons of shopping and restaurants. Almost every type of store is located in the immediate area around the hotel, which made it very useful for us to get things we needed during our stay. The hotel itself is basic! Think, hostel with your own private bathroom basic! Soap is a communal tube attached to the shower wall that you squeeze. to dispense. There is virtually no furniture in these rooms at all. There is not a closet either. I feel they were going for hipster minimalist when they designed these hotels, but it really misses the mark. Granted, I'm probably not the target consumer they are going for here (40's), but it's REALLY basic! There were not even any drawers or places to put your clothes. They literally have a metal bar attached to the wall and ceiling and that is your closet!? Nowhere to put your suitcases and a really tiny desk. No coffee maker, no ice bucket, nothing! The color theme seems to be something out of 1980's Circus Circus (neon yellow/blue/red). Our room was also extremely small, like big enough for a king bed and barely enough room to walk around it small. It reminds me of the hotels you would find in Europe, or an airport hotel in the US. The free breakfast is the typical carb overload and fake egg patties (think Hampton Inn). It was nice to have a free option, but it honestly wasn't too appetizing. What also wasn't appetizing was the giant cockroach that flew from somewhere and landed on my shoulder in the breakfast area one morning!!! That was the last time we ate in there! I will say the staff here was really great! They were very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. If you are looking for something very basic with almost no amenities that offers really just a comfortable bed and not much else, you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for something that resembles a Hilton... skip this brand.
