Great location in the Gaslamp District. The hotel is charming as a renovation from the past, especially the balconies overlooking the courtyard and the wooden staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was adequate. Plastic drinking cups felt really low-end and the mattress wasn't as firm as I would have hoped for. But the price was better than others places in that area and the staff was very friendly. We appreciated the vouchers for drinks at the Salt and Whiskey and feasted on the bar's excellent fries.

Location, Location, Location! We walked everywhere! Easy walk to Gaslamp and Seaport Village. Bus 992 gets u to the airport. Bus 215 takes u to the Zoo. How good is that? All buses u get from Broadway. The rooms were huge, so comfy with best bed and pillows. Historical hotel.

Beautiful, interesting and well situated hotel. Staff was very attentive and solved any issues we had. Would definitely stay there again. Close to an abundance of excellent restaurants.

I've stayed here twice now. First time I had an OK experience. I loved the historic setting and convenient Gaslamp location but my room was next to a noisy utility room, possibly a laundry room? This time the room was better, but next door guests were super loud. Slamming doors at 2am and loud drunken talking. Won't be staying here again.

Historic hotel with many original features, like high ceilings in the rooms (makes it feel more spacious). Fairly quiet, great location in/next to Gaslamp District. Because it's an old hotel, you get the historicness but also it does feel older, like the elevator (which was fine-- a bit slow, but only 4 floors in the hotel, so no biggie). But, it's a trade-off for the character of the hotel.
