The hotel admitted that they had over booked and had given away our reservation for a room with a king sized bed. In fact, this happened to at least three other reservations. They moved our reservation to a room with two beds. The room has multiple electrical outlets that didn’t work and the pillows on the bed are small squares. We had stayed at this hotel in the past, but not again.

The staff was professional but nice & polite. Rooms were nice & the bed was comfortable. I was alone & felt safe. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because I didn't care for their breakfast options. No bacon, no biscuits, no gravy. They did have scrambled eggs & sausage, & Belgian waffles. I'm just not a fan of that breakfast food.

Housekeeping was the biggest disappointment. Took 3 days to get a housekeeper to the room and they were downright LAZY. Finally got a service person to bring fresh towels, he was prompt and pleasant. Front desk personnel lovely. Elderly “janitor” was amazingly hard worker, gave him big tip for simply working so hard every day I was there No room safe was big disappointment. Location great.

The couch in our room (409) had stains all over it, it was really gross. and the conditioner was empty in the shower.

The night clerk has always been friendly and helpful. We stay at the Fairfield about every 4 to 6 weeks. We usually have a late check in. After a long drive to get to San Marcos, he gets us checked in fast and easy.
