Villa Crawford

Sant'Agnello|0.25km from Stabilimento Balneare La Marinella
Why we loved our stay? Location cannot be beat! Balanced and beautiful. We are close enough to Sorrento to access all it has to offer, but we were walkably far enough away to enjoy spectacular views (RM 206 on a corner), quiet ocean sounds and a relaxing a**osphere. The grounds are pretty and well maintained, but the views you will write home about. Calibrate walkable: Our group loves to count steps, this is a 20 to 35 minute walk to different parts of Sorrento. Not a problem for us, but for others rent a bike or a vespa or take a cab. Terrain is relatively flat between Sorrento and Villa Crawford. Taxis are available. For hotel to town travel, make sure to reserve them in advance. Don't let the distance from town turn you off. We loved that we had both a privat-ish paradise and Sorrento very nearby. Rooms: This is not a W hotel! Posh spice might find it a bit too utilitarian. But we found it perfect. Our room was spotless and clean. We were 4 adults (parents and two adult daughters on a family vacation). Space can be hard to find for our sized group. Our room had two twins (maybe twin longs) and a king made of two more. Bedding was firm and fresh. Beds were made with thin bedding, but thicker blankets were readily available. The room had a few chairs, a wardrobe closet and another with cubbies. The furniture was newer. The bathroom was large. Toilet. Bidet. Shower. Sink. and clean!!! The exterior windows were new and functioned well. I had to spend some time in the room to work, and found the views and sea calming--even while taking care of business. The TV was outdated--but who cares? I didn't come to Italy to watch TV. paint was fresh white and the floors were finished wood. Food on Premises: Some reviews bashed the breakfast--so our expectations were modest. Breakfast was not their superpower, but if a croissant and coffee are all you need to get going, we enjoyed it. The hotel does have an opportunity to improve the breakfast experience. just move it up to either breathtaking balcony! That may be a bit more inconvenient for the staff and chef, but the guests will love you for engaging them with unparalleled views and an experiential lift. Also, consider moving your coffee bar up to the bar area to promote coffee on your deck or in the garden. Food off premises: Within steps of the hotel were exceptional restaurants with similar mind-blowing views of the bay of Napels. Examples: La Terrazza (4.3) (Great views and food), Il Ruttino (4.5) Neopolitan fare, does not look like much from the outside, but it has tables in the back. Great pizza! (Naturally!). So, you don't have to get to Sorrento to get your foodie fix on! That said, if you do, Sorrento can cook. Stay away from the touristy stuff if you can. Don't assume fancy means good. For example: Benvenuti in Casa (TripAdvisor 5.0) seemed fast casual on the outside, but it turned out to deliver a fabulous home-cooked, authentic Italian meal and

Unconventional Sorrento Coast

This hotel was formerly a convent and is adjacent to a beautiful church, and the setting is serene and beautiful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are so accommodating and helpful that you could not ask for more. The room my wife and I stayed in was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and the coffee was delicious. The staff were warm and friendly and the service given was among the best we’ve ever experienced. There is complimentary wi-fi ( a rarity these days with most establishments charging a small premium) . We had a lovely stay which was predominantly down to the staff and in particular a lovely lady named Theresa who always went out of her way and was so accommodating. Although the hotel is listed as a “Three Star” it feels like a “5 Star”. Stunning , and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Hotel Corallo Sorrento

Just spent 3 nights at the Hotel Corallo Sorrento, which is less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Sorrento. We had an Oceanside view with a private terrace. The Sunsets were amazing!!! The room had a decent size for European standards. It was very clean and tastefully furnished and decorated. Bathroom was recently updated. The hotel itself is on the water. Their restaurant has a long terrace adjacent to the ocean. They have a buffet breakfast which is decent. Dinner is served on the terrace. You will want to book about a half hour before sunset. The staff was amazing and always attentive to our needs. We will definitely return.

I had a lovely stay here. All was great, clean room, balcony and hotel staff all excellent and helpful. The reception staff can answer every question there is! You can even arrange excursions from this hotel. I enjoyed a little time in the relaxing beautiful garden. I was on holiday solo with Jet2 from Scotland. I found the Sant Agnello area to be very good also. Firstly it is all flat and easy to walk around, and has a beautiful seafront, churches etc Secondly it has excellent transport links, you can leave this hotel and be standing n Sorrento in around 10 minutes by bus or train for just around 2 Euro. There is therefore no need to walk in the hot weather but you can do if you want, abour 20 mins walk to Sorrento. This is an advantage over some Sorrento hotels where you might be up on the cliff and need taxis etc. There is also a beautiful pool though I didn't have time to swim as I wanted to go to so many places such as Pompeii, Ercolano, Positano , Capri etc all an hour or so away.

This is the best location for Sorrento to watch the sunset. The hotel breakfast is great, there are about 15 cars in the yard, the parking is relatively adequate, and it takes about 5 minutes to drive to Sorrento. Opposite the hotel there is a platform to watch the sunset, and there is a nice restaurant on the terrace. The seafood pasta is delicious!

Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, small double room with large balcony. Housekeeping was excellent with fresh towels daily. Staff all very nice and friendly. Pool was fine for the size of the hotel. Roof terrace was excellent, on 2 levels with plenty sunbeds and 2 showers....Great views from here., especially when you first see Mt Vesuvius from here. The railway line is very close but you really don't hear it. The food, we were half board, 1st holiday in Italy, we felt it was very basic. Breakfast was fruit juice, yoghurts, fruit, cereal, sliced ham, sliced cheese, bread (available toastie machine though this only warmed the bread), eggs(boiled or scrambled), beans, croissants, rolls, marmalade, cakes and coffee/tea machine. You were given dinner menu to select your meal for later that day, usually 3 starters, 1 of which was soup and other 2 were pasta dishes, 4 mains, consisting of 1 meat, 1 fish, 1 pasta and 1 salad, 1 sweet and bread/butter. Drinks available which got charged to room. Bill to pay on last night of holiday including city tax €2/night per person. We found the food adequate but just felt it let a great little gem of a hotel down. Hotel is well placed, 5 mins walk to S'Agnello Station, costs €1.49 one way to Sorrento takes about 5 mins to get there or you can walk along main road 25 mins. We did a few tours though we organised them ourselves...as cheaper. Went to Capri on ferry, €20 each way...loads to do there but be prepared for the massive queues. Also did Amalfi and Positano by ferry €40 return, gorgeous views. Booked Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius bus tour, excellent. Also took train €10 return to Castellammare di Stabia and took cable car €9 return up Mt Faito. Views were stunning everywhere we went. Several small shops, bars and restaurants all 5/10 mins walk of hotel and also lovely church.
