Gateway Hotel Santa Monica

I stayed there for 4 nights, and for Los Angeles, it was pretty good value for money. The parking fee wasn't too expensive, but it would have been great if they could have refilled the mineral water daily.

The room was clean and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They did their best to accommodate our request for a quiet room away from the elevator. Parking was quite convenient, with 10 minutes of free parking allowed (which is very handy for loading and unloading luggage); overnight parking for hotel guests is $23 per day. The only minor drawback was that the AC was quite loud, which might not be ideal for light sleepers.

The hotel was clean and the customer service was excellent. The location near Santa Monica was also very convenient. The only minor issue was that the number of towels provided varied each day; some days there weren't enough for everyone. Other than that, everything was great! I would definitely consider staying here again!

The hotel was clean! It would have been nice to have a kettle. It's a bit of a walk to the nearby Target and McDonald's, but it's acceptable. You can even walk to Santa Monica if you want to!

The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. It's a bit of a distance from Santa Monica Beach, and traffic was terrible on Saturday evening. The only downside was that breakfast was entirely supermarket instant food, and there were very few seats.

For such a high price, this place is like a motel. The facilities and service are terrible, and the windows don't even close properly. The entire hotel doesn't even have a microwave.
