We had been booked to stay in the Royal Suite at Kepos for 4 nights and given all the good reviews and lovely photos, we had high hopes. However, from the scruffy entrance with overflowing bins to the grubby and broken sun loungers by the very cold pool we were sadly disappointed. The whole place has a sad, slightly abandoned air to it. The Royal Suite was Travel Lodge in standard. The headboards of the bed were worn and tired. The bathroom towels were frayed and discoloured. The terrace featured uncomfy rusty furniture and overlooked the so-called spa - a dirty looking hot tub surrounded by cheap astroturf. The drinks round the pool were astronomical and the restaurant fare underwhelming - but without prices to match. The menu was presented in an off-putting plastic folder. I imagine most people only eat there the first night. An evening musician played to an empty garden which just made the resort feel even sadder! We checked out after two days as soon as we found somewhere else to go - not easy in the middle of August! The kindly manager gave us a voucher to compensate but it is worthless as we won’t be returning and I couldn't't recommend it to any friends or family. The staff - and particularly the manager - were very kind and hospitable; my issue is with the standard of the resort itself. The photos simply aren't representative of the current standard

We have just returned from Sicily, having spent 3 nights at the hotel. Highly recommend booking if you’re looking for a very relaxing and chilled out stay in the hills near Mount Etna. Our hotel room was very clean. We really appreciated the modern decor, we stayed in a lovely suite (room 202) that also featured a jacuzzi bath. It was very peaceful and quiet. The room was very well equipped with mini bar, smart TV, separate shower and toilet, as well as huge selection of complimentary toiletries & a very large bed. I asked for an additional pillow (my preference, my partner didn’t need one), and it was sent to the room within minutes - thanks for that! We ate in the restaurant one evening, very chilled out and nice to eat our meal with a good view down the coast. The breakfast assortment was plentiful & great to sample a lot of local and homemade produce. The staff were all super friendly & felt like they always wanted to look after us. Great tip- the staff work very hard and so it is sometimes necessary to find them in the restaurant for poolside cocktails etc. but do find them- The Long Island Ice Tea on a hot Sicilian day was gorgeous! The manager was friendly and professional, he really helped us with booking an airport transfer (roughly €70), which took all the stress away. We felt very welcome at this hotel. We really enjoyed visiting and wouldn’t hesitate to return on our next trip to Sicily.

We had wonderful stay in this hotel ( 4 nights), with sea and Etna view. Well located between Catania, Taromina and of course Etna! It's a calm hotel in the middle of lemon trees, with parking.Nice big rooms, pool with great view. We enjoyed our relaxing time. Good food, breakfast/ dinner and lovely people. And there was a musician/singer to gently entertain us for dinner/ drink at the pool bar.

This is one of the best places on the planet. Everything you can dream of is in this hotel. This is a very private place with gorgeous landscapes. The hotel rooms are clean and well maintained, everything is new. I advise you to visit the royal suite. I use a wheelchair and everything in this hotel is excellent for disabled people! The hotel even has its own electric wheelchair, Im exited. I would like to thank the staff of the hotel! Every member was especially attentive to us! Director Salvatore Special thanks to you, I have not met such a kind and sympathetic person for a very long time. We are eternally grateful for such awesome, luxurious stay. We will definitely come back to you again and again!

Beautiful resort with great service. We really enjoyed staying here. Great rooms with all that is needed from a high quality hotel. The breakfast was excellent and filled with local fruit and specialities from the big plantation on the actual resort. Nice pool area with a great view of the sea and Etna. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for a few days in early July. The hotel is very well located just off the motorway at the Giarre Exit. Small 15 room, the owner and his family are actively involved . Unfortunately like other hotels in the world lack of staff is an issue, but we never had any problems . The rooms where clean and well appointed . Private Drive way. The infinity swimming pool was lovely and quiet . Breakfast was continental with a nice spread, Nothing was too much trouble to make , capucchino , with different milks! Located within easy distance from Taormina, and beaches and ETNA villages , just 5 minutes from Zafferana.

Slightly amazed by glowing reviews as pluses and serious minuses. Seem to have sweet, inexperienced staff, pool area slightly tired and needs tlc, room great size with good view but constant noise from motorway, view from pool fab. No atmosphere in evening, restaurant dead but that’s, as we realised. because food was very average. When complained was told - maybe you don’t know Sicilian food. Pointed out we had had great Sicilian food during trip and my teenagers could chuck a jar of pesto on a packet of gnocchi and destroy a steak with a hideously sharp, heavy sauce. Assume lack of customers in restaurant during our 5 night stay meant others agreed.

Outstanding 7 day experience, perfect for families and adapted to small kids Rooms are spacious, well maintained, the view from the pool is amazing and the food is delicious. Mostly, they have this incredibly competent and friendly staff. Cleaning personnel, receptionist, owner, and waiters/barmen at Kepos were all extremely nice and helpful to us during our whole stay. They even assisted us at 3am for a medical emergency, and the owner’s dad took me to the hospital himself to help me explain my case to the doctors. We’ll never forget that. Oh, and they sure know how to make a proper Martini Cocktail, which is always a plus!

Beautiful view of Etna and the sea, excellent food served with courtesy by friendly personnel (particular mention to Sergio and Igor) and convenient location to explore Etna. Garden is very well maintained. More attention to customer's needs by the ownership is an area where they can improve - we asked a late check out, despite low occupancy and being Tuesday with many rooms still avail on Booking, we were 'conceded' 12:00 instead of 11:00 (!) but we were told we were still 'allowed' in the swimming pool area after 12:00 (!!). Other than this, all personnel very friendly, and Paola the chef is a great asset for the resort. Fairly pet friendly, they have two beautiful dogs who roam in the magnificent garden (but owners-see above- complained about our pet dog the same 😊)
