I want to start by give some folks that made our stay extra special. Vicili , Martha, Sultana, Nicole, Mario, Olga and Theo. I’m typing this on our last day at Katakies… laying on the side of the main pool. How to describe the hotel. It’s similar to what you would expect at a Four Seasons or Montage or Ritz in the US. Impeccable service, food, grounds with an amazing accommodations. This resort is settled in the beginning of the Oia walkway. Amazing shops, and restaurants all over the place. Most definitely the best resort in Santorini located in the best area of Santorini. Be prepared to relax on an amazing resort with incredible views of the ocean but also of Oía. A few things to understand about Santorini. It’s a volcanic island part of a huge crater. So if you are expecting beaches, this is not a place for you. However, I believe the pools, service and the beauty of what island has to offer is worth the visit. Many of you asked about what you see from the resort, You see the same thing any other resort in the area see… lots of volcanic mountains, lots of white buildings, beautiful sea but not much blue tops (not that they matter) One thing to note and it was important to me: the main pool is heated. If you are going to a hotel between September through July, you will need a heated pool. Most resorts do not have it. Also, expect lots of stairs. Though they do have an elevator, scary elevator, you will have to still take a lot of steps… a LOT of steps… but that is Oía for you. Anywhere you go in Oía, you will have to climb.
