"We had a great time at Canaves Iona. The hotel is a little outside the center of Oia, on the top of a cliff, with few steps and a great view of the Caldera Lake (no sunset view). The breakfast area and poolside area are small but functional."

"The hotel boasts a unique design, and the overall facilities and services were satisfactory. Its location near Fira allows for easy access to town by bus. The swimming pool is nice and quite large."

"An unpleasant hotel experience. From the very beginning, it was unclear where to go. Some cleaning man stood there, told us to wait, then ran off somewhere. We waited for 15 minutes, then returned with bags of trash and simply said, "Well, take the elevator." We barely found the reception area. There was a rag on the floor at the entrance, soaking up a rain leak. The receptionists were unpleasant, asking for a card number to "pay for the bar," even though we weren't planning on using the bar. We booked a room "with a pool," but there was no pool. And the shared pools that were available were freezing. There was no care for the guests, and there was no heating. People were lying next to each other on sun loungers, just looking at the pool with disappointment. The hotel's grounds were littered with wood and construction debris, which was also unpleasant to see. Too many employees constantly saying "Hello Hello," which was annoying. We previously stayed at another hotel in Fira, which was much nicer, more fun, and surprisingly cheaper. I do not recommend this hotel."

"I arrived early, exhausted from plenty of travelling with little sleep, and George the manager kindly upgraded me to this sister hotel, so I could move straight away into this vacant suite with private balcony and jacuzzi and make it my home for the week. And I was made to feel very welcome by the lovely Natassa at reception who had plenty of recommendations for outings and activities and she was so helpful securing appointments for treatments in the Gold Spa next door and a cruise on a catamaran. My suite was in a really good position to catch the spectacular sunrises and sunsets over the Caldera and looking towards Oia. The room service breakfasts delivered each morning and set out for me on the balcony by the two lovely breakfast guys, Fabio and Stavros, were so nourishing and delicious, and “Bravo” to the chef, for the inspired offerings on his menu, and the wine list was considered, and I particularly enjoyed the delicious Rosé from Achilles… I unfortunately didn’t get to try any of the cocktails , as tempting as they appeared on the list. Many thanks to the lovely Lina who helped me out with things in my room, and Felipe (sp?) with the jacuzzi and Harris (sp?) who delivered my meal and drink requests so efficiently. Everyone was so cheerful, helpful and obliging, and I was looked after incredibly well, I really struck gold"

"A week's vacation in a magical place for children and parents. Swimming pool and jacuzzi that delighted young and old. A very large suite with a shower for the parents and a shower for the children. 3 TVs with Netflix; WIFI that works perfectly. Monolithos Beach nearby, accessible on foot, good restaurants nearby. A special mention to our host Elona who was great during our stay. She was very welcoming, attentive, she gave us great advice on activities to do in Santorini. She recommended an affordable restaurant to admire the sunset. She offered us a catamaran to visit the volcano and the hot springs and even found us a hairdresser for the children. "How can I begin to describe this magical getaway?? From the moment we arrived, my husband and I were welcomed with authentic warmth and professionalism. Naya showed us our villa, which felt like we were on a movie set! The view rivaled any touristy spot in the other parts of the island, and on top of that, we were in a peaceful, quiet atmosphere the entire time. Breakfast was served by our private pool every morning, always made to our exact requests. The interior of the villa was comfortable and well-maintained. There’s a small cobblestone road between the back patio and cliff edge, only a few cars drove by the entire time we were there — it still felt utterly private. The staff was top notch, always helpful and going above and beyond in a genuine way. Naya made sure we had the BEST experience wherever we went on the island. She recommended a fabulous restaurant in Pyrgos, a chic beach club in Perivolos, and arranged every ride for us. We went back and forth researching tons of places before we landed on this gem, and I am so thankful we did. We’ll be returning for years to come!!"
