Hotel location and staff are very good. But being an older building, the room wasn't very clean. Passable, but not to the standard of most Japanese hotels. The food is also OK, not great.

Built at old time (OMG almost 100 yrs), but managed in good condition till now. Amazing :) Direct link to underground corridor, vey convenient location :)

It is located in the centre of Sapporo City. 10 minutes walk North you will find JR Sapporo Station and 10 minutes South you will find the busy commercial district of Susukino. If you are travel from the airport, the airport Liner bus stop is right in front of the hotel but the journey will take more than 90 minutes as there are quite a few stops before arriving at the hotel. Room is clean and tidy. Be sure to book the breakfast if available. It costs 3300Yen if pay separately at the hotel but the breakfast at the Northern Terrace is one of the best buffet breakfast I have ever tasted.

Location and service - great. But there was an odour. As soon as you open the door, you can smell it. Couldn't put our finger on it, but it wasn't pleasant. We went out for a couple of hours and left the window open to air out the room. May not stay there again, unfortunately. Service, of course, was great and towel system smart. 2 people staying there and they are coloured labelled different to one another. Buffet breakfast was yum too. Our little 6 month old slept with us in the bed as the room wouldn't be big enough for a travel cot.

Sapporo Grand Hotel has the best location in the city. The basement is connected to the tunnel which can take you to the subway and shopping mall. The breakfast buffet has a big variety of food choice. It has guest parking and cost 2000 yen per day only. Some wings of the building is fully renovated. Overall I will pick Sapporo Grand every time when im in town.

Hotel is quite run down, fortunately the hotel is cleaned and tidy. Great breakfast ! Lots of variety to taste.

not sure if it’s due to the old sewage system, the bathroom consistently has a distinct smell of urine during our 4 nights stay at the double room at main building
