Attended a funeral wake with a there home cooked buffet. Absolutely stunning the staff really looked after us all. The pub is a good size plenty of room for everyone the bar was efficiently staffed allowing quick service. The buffet was first class. I have been for just drinks over the years and has always been a favourite.

A lovely pub - food delicious and plenty of it. Every member of staff friendly and helpful. Room clean and warm. Breakfast excellent. Nothing to moan about here. Special mention to Claire Shane Sophie and Sally. Thank you guys for looking after us so well.

Perfect stopover / base for a weekend. We arrived to check in on a Friday evening, the bar area downstairs was very busy with friendly locals. The bar staff prioritised our check in once they understood we had a room booked, and also prioritised finding a table free for us to eat. Clean and tidy room, super friendly staff, brilliant evening meal and top notch breakfast. Highly recommend....we'll be back regularly!

We stayed on Saturday night and arrived to a warm welcome. Although the pub is in the centre of the small town there is a private car park just to the side of the pub. Although our double room was small it was perfectly well equipped, a nice welcome tray, hair dryer and hanging space which is all you need for a short stay. It was nice and warm too. The bed was very comfy and bedding was lovely and clean with nice fluffy pillows. The pub was busy with a lovely a**osphere, we ordered our food and it arrived very quickly and was piping hot. We both had the beef stew which was delicious with red cabbage, a crusty roll and a side of chunky chips, really tasty. The waitress recommended the Biscof caramel cheesecake and wow! Heaven on a plate!! The town was so quiet at night we could have been in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast service was really friendly with lots on offer, the cooked breakfast we had was delicious too. All in all a very pleasing stay and great value for money, we would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Great homemade food, friendly staff, comfy stay, good a**osphere. As well as staying over night, they also did the wake for the funeral of my friends husband....superb food and sevice. Traditional pub environment.

We were looking for a venue for a christening buffet. Absolutely stunning. Food was all home made and so tasty with lots of choice. Lots of accolades from guests. Best buffet I have experienced. Sally and her staffs efficiency were second to none. Nothing too much trouble.

We picked this pub because of it's location & reviews. There is free parking just across the road from the pub. We stayed for one night and had dinner & drinks. The food is tasty & reasonably priced. The pub was fairly busy and had a friendly a**osphere. Breakfast was good with several choices & freshly cooked. We stayed in room 4 and have to say it was probably the coldest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I slept in a T- Shirt & socks something I never do! We did mention it but didn't bother ask for another room as it was only one night.I would have marked higher otherwise.Shane is very helpful and the pub is a very welcoming place.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful, from coming outside to show us where to park and carrying my bags up to our room. Our evening meal was hearty and tasty, sat next to an open fire. The bedroom was comfortable and quiet, we slept well. Breakfast had a good choice, I had American pancakes with fruit and maple syrup, delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
