This is a very nice 3+ star resort and we had an excellent experience. I read some negative reviews so I was a bit worried. Our king suites was as pictured on the website. Bed was very comfortable with nice linens. Big jetted bathtub was a pleasant surprise Really enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant. The pool was nice as well although the lounge chairs could be upgraded. When our plans changed unexpectedly hotel staff was helpful and allowed us a late checkout Location is good as well. Close to the downtown Sedona shops and restaurants but far enough away the enjoy the night sky.

Magical location. Super clean and updated rooms. Phenomenal staff that are accommodating, professional and hospitable. Breathtaking vistas. Our room was awesome but our water wasn’t getting hot. There was an issue with the hot water heater. The manager, Megan, took care of us and we were compensated.. she also gave us a bottle of wine. There’s an outdoor patio that has happy hour from 4pm-6pm. 50% off beer and wine. Very lovely experience. You can walk to the Mesa Grille ( very close) for wonderful meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Hotel doesn’t have food service. The front desk is open 24/7 with staff to help you. They provide complimentary fresh brewed coffee/tea, purified crystallized water and snacks from 4:30 am on. There is a free shuttle from 2pm-10pm that will bring you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. The driver Larry is awesome!!I highly recommend this slice of heaven.!

My husband and I could not have been happier. A Sunset Chateau is magical and romantic, with beautifully landscaped grounds, a pool and hot tub and daily complimentary breakfast . The breakfast was always unique and very good. The coffee was also excellent. I think all or most of the rooms have outstanding views of the distant red rocks. Our unit had a couch and chairs facing the on site foliage, patios w fire pit as well as red rock views. It was calm and serene. They send an email after you book with tons of restaurant and tour information which was very helpful. The airport mesa trailhead is just across the street for a good hike. For a walkable happy hour and super view, try Red Wall distillery.

We checked out on 9/16 after a 5 night stay. The gentleman wearing black shirt unfortunately was not the embodiment of warm hospitality, especially in a place like Sedona. Presumably he did everything by the book, which was fine, but certainly did not improve the reputation for this property. We booked this place for 2 reasons, proximity to the conference place which we flew in for, and it’s part of Marriott which we are of Titanium elite status. If you are looking to stay here because of your status, and are expecting some sort of status related perks, forget it. We didn’t really get any perk, no breakfast, no room upgrade (hotel’s not busy), we did get a room facing the mountains so not sure if that’s what they called “an upgrade”. No guaranteed 4pm late check out, and we only got some daily 10 dollar vouchers per person per room, not good for anything anywhere except for the bar onsite, and they close for lunch. No daily housekeeping either, only once every other day. The hotel lobby decor is quite pleasant, match the Sedona vibe, a nice outdoor area with a decent pool. Small gym, but better than not having one, and they also have a coin laundry. The room itself is fine, overlooking the mountains, has a small fridge and a microwave. Other amenities that a higher end hotel would offer is not available in this property. Overall an alright hotel, but I would suggest looking around more for other options.
Daily Resort Charge includes: Guest Wi-Fi: 10% off select local dining: self-parking: video, board game & DVD rentals: sporting equipment incl. horseshoes, bocce ball and corn hole: cultural activities.
Tucked perfectly in the upper Sedona Plateau, we’re just a five-minute drive from the airport and Sedona’s busy city center. Popular hiking trails like Cathedral Rock and Devil's Bridge are within a 10-minute drive. Choose from studios and suites with fully-equipped kitchen and separate living/dining area.

Nothing bad to say, the rooms are stunning and clean, the staff was very accommodating and kind. Beautiful property and many pools throughout the resort for ppl to use. I would come again My only wish is that there were more plates to accommodate the number of guests and utensils.

GGuest UserThis is a beautiful resort located in the middle of the canyon. It's a little bit far from the town, however, you get really connected with nature. I had a room facing the canyon, it's beautiful like you are living solo with nature. The sunlight is great, the rooms are clean and cozy. It does need some maintenance as it gets old over time, however, they are very comfortable to stay in. The best thing I love is the energy in the house and around. Stuff are super nice there and easy to work with.
GGlobal01695650485I was underwhelmed, and frankly would not recommend staying here. The mountain view was over a busy road and row of buildings, with cars, exhaust, and noise a plenty. Nearby restaurants were surprisingly weak, and the shops were filled mostly with junky tourist stuff. But what really messed me up was the way the heater turned on and off throughout the night. It was either too hot or too cold and I woke up constantly. We ended up leaving a day early, loosing the money for that night as I just couldn't take it. Our room was clean, but old and tired, and it was smaller than I expected. If there was a way to get ice, we did not find it, and of course since this motel is not staffed there was no one to ask. We ended up buying ice from the grocery store a few blocks down the street. There was a fridge in the room, and I believe a microwave as well, thought we didn't use it. The personless check-in worked fine. I got a text with the door code which worked fine the first try. No worries on that front. Bottom line: Skip this place and pay up for one of the nicer places with a pleasant view. Or just skip Sedona and try one of the other mountain towns. Could I redo our trip, I would have skipped Sedona and spend time in Prescott, which had way more going on and a really fun vibe.
We are not staying at Amara, but came for dinner at Saltrock on October 20th. Our server for dinner Lydia was delightful and took excellent care of us. We overheard her saying that she had been there all day yet she was very attentive and courteous. Amy, the hostess, handled a busy crowd with grace. The parking attendants ( didn’t get their names) were very polite and efficient.
GGuest UserThis place was so much fun! They really catered to families with young kids. We were given a scavenger hunt to fill out during check-in. .The kids LOVED doing that. I would also recommend trying the included breakfast. We had a suite with a beautiful view of the mountains. We also walked across the street to grab pizza. Excellent food! We also enjoyed the heated pool and spa in the evening.
OK, I signed up for a weekend with the timeshare presentation. You would think they would try to give us a nice room, etc. Seriously? Right next to the overflowing dumpster. Parking is realllly limited at all times. And they are continuing to build. We were in one of the renovated studio units. It felt really confining. Yes, it had a patio -- but it looked at the parked cars. The toilet seat was broken, the coffee maker didn't work, the vertical blinds do not keep out the light, the AC cycles on for while with freezing, blasting air, and then it cycles off and it gets truly hot. On top of that, the entire complex feels really congested. Our room felt like an inside cabin on a ship. They offered us another week for $1,000 so we could consider it further. No. Just no.
黄黄The breakfast was great. It was the best in the hotel where I had breakfast for free on this trip. There were whole wheat bread, scones, fruit, fresh milk, and I could make my own waffles. The front desk staff was also very enthusiastic.
GGuest UserWe had our Granddaughter and mom in for an Arizona visit so Grand Canyon and Sedona were at the tope of the list. In looking at places to stay this looked like a Southwest style they would enjoy. The pictures are current and the place is as advertised. Very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Good location close to town dining and shops. Pool and spa nice for this class of hotel. Breakfast is included but not much to chose from. If your need coffee and a bagel its ok but not much else. Second floor rooms have a balcony with table and chairs your can sit out and relax on also. Even though it was only one night we were very happy with this hotel for what we expected. Will go back again. Hint: Rooms on second floor have a better view, but there are about 10 steps up from the walkway so if that gives you issues climbing (with your bags as well) you may want to stay on first floor. You can see the steps in the photos.
GGuest UserFirst, the positive:
1. The staff was courteous, professional, and helpful.
2. The outdoor area was well above par. The pool was clean with in-pool loungers (4). Safety equipment and signage posted. Multiple cabanas (6?) were available. Large fire pit with plentiful seating. The pool is 5 feet deep at the center. This is not a pool made for swimming laps, but for lounging.
3. Rooms have an outdoor balcony with a table and 2 chairs.
4. Windows have both a blackout screen and a privacy screen. The window is able to be opened for fresh air and is screened.
5. HVAC was in good order and worked perfectly.
6. In room refrigerator was clean and worked well. Microwave, TV, and phone in room.
7. Breakfast area was spacious and breakfast offered multiple options though I did not avail myself of this amenity.
Now, the negative:
1. The room itself was much smaller (king bed ) than expected. Room was cramped and looked nothing like the pictures on the website.
2. The bathrooms were recently remodeled, but the aesthetics are problematic. Why would anyone put wood laminate flooring in a bathroom with a walk in shower that has approximately a 2” inch lip and shower curtain in lieu of doors? You take a shower and the floor gets wet...no bueno.
3. There is a $10 per night service fee charged on registration. The fee is for wifi and other services. I don't recall seeing this posted when I reserved the room, but perhaps I overlooked it. I didn't object paying it, but the fee should be transparent.
4. Housekeeping is performed every 3 days and if you need more towels, etc., simply contact the front desk and they will have what you need brought up.
Other: I booked the room for 2 nights but opted not to stay the 2nd night.
