Marriott Jeju Shinhwa World Hotels & Resorts

The most basic Marriott you could imagine. They cut corners on everything from the decor to the service, and the facilities are quite dated. While the minibar is complimentary for the first round, it only includes four drinks. The most baffling part is that drinking water is provided strictly based on the number of guests on the reservation, and asking for extra incurs a charge. Naturally, disposable toothbrushes also cost extra. The concierge was enthusiastic, but the front desk was just average. The room we were assigned was not only on a low floor, but also literally had zero view. <div></div> The only bright side was the complimentary Big 3 tickets to Shinhwa Theme Park.

This hotel is great for families with children. It's a 40-minute taxi ride from the airport. The rooms are spacious enough, and the resort offers everything you need: a pool, shopping, a casino, dining options, and an amusement park. The highlights: The pool is fantastic! The indoor pool opens at 9:00 AM, and the outdoor one at 10:00 AM. It's huge, with both regular and heated pools, which made the kids very happy. The hotel also provides good quality life jackets. Shopping is convenient, and each person received 3 amusement park tickets. The amusement park isn't very big, but the rides are decent, and they even have staff singing, which adds a unique touch. The downside: The outdoor singing at night went on until past 10 PM, which was a bit noisy.

This hotel is located in Shinhwa World, Seogwipo, which is a resort complex with an amusement park, mall, and swimming pool, making it great for families with kids. It's also convenient for exploring the southwest part of Jeju. The hotel even includes complimentary tickets for three attractions at the amusement park.

Service: First, I have to commend the lovely front desk staff at the gym – they were incredibly enthusiastic and kind, always with a bright smile! The swimming pool staff were also super patient and friendly. And then there's the main front desk area – the welcome service there was great too. There were a few small issues, but they were resolved perfectly, so overall, I'm quite satisfied. Facilities: Excellent as always! Ambiance: Also fantastic! Cleanliness: Very clean. I can only say this is the most "unassuming" Marriott I've ever stayed at. The photos accurately reflect the room's actual appearance, which is on par with a typical business hotel in China. As a resort hotel, it's completely unremarkable. The room's mini-bar offers complimentary drinks and alcohol. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are free to use and are quite good, and there's also a hot tub. Mythology Park tickets are included, allowing free access to three attractions. This amusement park is a bit old, but its only advantage might be that it's not crowded, so there's no need to queue. The food street in the resort area doesn't have many options. We tried the Volcanic Grilled Black Pork, which was decent.

This hotel is perfect for a family vacation. It has a playground, great food, and spacious rooms. Staying at the resort means you don't even need to leave; the playground and water world are fantastic and super convenient.

The pool looked big in the pictures, but it was actually just okay in real life. Breakfast was decent. Hotel service was pretty average. The room was standard, and the small bathtub was a fun touch, but I forgot to take a picture. The most unbelievable thing was that for a hotel costing nearly 2000 a night, they didn't provide toothbrushes and toothpaste. You had to buy them yourself. The hotel is located in Seogwipo, with a small playground nearby that's only suitable for children under 10 – it's really tiny. They gave us two tickets to the water park, but we didn't get a chance to go. It looked pretty good though; I heard it's a popular spot for Koreans to visit on weekends. Downstairs, there are adult entertainment facilities and it's right next to an outlet mall, but there are very few brands available there...

The room was clean and tidy, and the location was excellent. It was super convenient for dining and shopping. Shilla Duty Free was right across the street, Haidilao was upstairs, and KFC was downstairs. The breakfast was also very suitable for Chinese tastes. It's perfect for anyone visiting Jeju Island for travel and shopping!

The overall service was good, and the rooms were marked with nationality, so Chinese-speaking assistance was available by phone. We could also request a child toilet seat. However, the overall facilities for families were a bit lacking compared to domestic parent-child hotels. There were no complimentary toothbrushes or toothpaste, so we had to bring our own or buy them from a vending machine. Only two bottles of mineral water were provided per day, and anything extra had to be purchased. Seogwipo City felt better for exploring than Jeju City, and both were about the same distance. Hyeopjae Beach is highly recommended. There was a sashimi place in the complex that was delicious, but Mom's fried chicken was just okay. For BHC fried chicken, the front desk could help order delivery, and it was a 15-minute walk away.
