Stanford Hotel Myeongdong

Overall, the value for money is excellent. The hotel is right in the heart of Myeongdong, directly opposite Lotte, and just a short walk down an alley to the food street. It's incredibly convenient for trying out all the popular Instagrammable food spots, but be mindful of the time as this area gets very crowded, and the queues can be quite long later in the day. We were really pleased with the size of the hotel room. I'd heard that hotels in Korea, much like Japan, tend to have small rooms, but perhaps because this was a twin room, it didn't feel cramped even with three of us, and we could open our suitcases easily. The bathroom was also spacious. Compared to the double rooms on the same floor, this room definitely offered much better value for money. Plus, the hotel is very close to the Chinese Consulate, which is a great spot to visit and snap some photos.

The Stanford Hotel Myeongdong boasts an excellent location. It's just a few minutes' walk to Euljiro 1(il)-ga Subway Station, which is on Line 2 and connects to Line 4 for Myeongdong Station and Seoul Station. Myeongdong Shopping Street is right downstairs, making dining, shopping, and getting around incredibly convenient. The airport limousine bus stop is also close by, located right in front of the Ibis Hotel. The room was clean, tidy, and well-lit, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering city views. The bedding was comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly, and there was even an uncle who spoke Chinese, making communication very smooth. The hotel is well-equipped with amenities like a laundry room and a gym. The only minor drawback is that the room is a bit small; it was a little inconvenient to walk around once we had two 24-inch suitcases open. Overall, it offers great value for money. If you're visiting Seoul and prioritize convenience, I highly recommend staying here.

The location is absolutely fantastic, couldn't ask for better. It's super convenient to get everywhere. They even gave us a lovely welcome gift when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Everything else was pretty good too, except for two things: the hallway had a really strong air freshener smell, and the freshly changed bath towels on the second day had a strange, unpleasant odor. Overall, it was decent, but for the high price, I honestly had higher expectations.

The hotel's location is fantastic – right above an Apple store, and Myeongdong's famous street food alley is just downstairs. The subway station is only 200 meters away, making getting around incredibly convenient. Our accessible room was also very spacious and clean. Highly recommended!

This hotel boasts an excellent location, being close to the subway station and situated above the Apple Store. Olive Young is right across the street, and Myeongdong is just downstairs. We encountered a few minor issues during our stay, but Celina was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful in resolving them, and she showed us great care. We were very satisfied with our stay in Seoul 🧡

## Location: Perfect Score Right across from Lotte Duty-Free and less than a 5-minute walk to Shinsegae Duty-Free, making it incredibly convenient for shopping. Its location is comparable to the Aloft nearby but significantly better than Voco (which requires a bit of a detour). If you're here for serious shopping, this location will definitely save you time and effort. ## Room & Facilities The room size is similar to Aloft's – both are on the 'compact' side. It's a bit smaller than Voco, so if you have a lot of luggage, you might want to reconsider. The hotel is located within a mixed-use building, so you'll need to go to the 9th-floor lobby for check-in. Waiting for elevators during peak hours can be a bit of a pain. There are free luggage lockers on the 9th floor lobby, which are very convenient to use. ## Service & Details The service was adequate, neither exceptionally good nor bad. However, there's a noticeable drawback: my Trip.com reservation explicitly requested a 'high floor,' but I was given the 11th floor (guest rooms are on floors 10-18). This compromised both the view and the quietness. I recommend calling ahead to confirm or actively requesting a higher floor upon arrival. The central air conditioning noise from the adjacent building runs 24/7, which somewhat affected my sleep. ## Alternatives Next door is Ibis. If you're not sensitive to floor level or room size, you could compare prices for the same location and pick whichever is cheaper. ## Summary: If you're looking for ultimate convenience and don't mind a smaller room or the occasional elevator wait, this place is worth considering. However, if a great view, spacious rooms, or a high-floor experience are important to you, I suggest lowering your expectations or looking elsewhere.
