Flower Garden Eco Village

Lovely peaceful atmosphere and beautiful setting. We had booked a quadruple room but it was actually two connecting doubles which was perfect. Pool area is beautiful. Staff are very friendly. We had laundry done which was great. The food was delicious too. Would definitely stay again. Sorry to leave.

We had a nice stay here. The hotel is a little far from town and isn’t much nearby. We could walk to the lion rock from this hotel so that was nice. The weather was rainy so we didn’t get to enjoy the pool. The breakfast is buffet style with western and Sri Lankan food as well as lots of fruit which I enjoyed. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Firstly, as a solo traveller the prices are quite steep per room per night!! But hence everything else is far after visiting the Lion try I gave it a try. The place is beutiful but seemed the cleaning staff doesn’t refill bathroom soaps, towels and tissue quite often. Everyone including myself kept on asking the receptionist guy for stuff. My plug sockets didn’t work, I slept thinking my power bank and phone would be fully charged by the morning. The people are polite. Lots of noise at night and turns out it’s elephant 🐘 noise and dogs barking. So I missed a 2 good hours of sleep. They do try to fix the problems when you tell them about them.

This hotel is located in the forest within walking distance of Sigiriya. Since it’s in the forest, I expected there to be a lot of insects, but to my surprise, there were hardly any inside the room, and I was able to stay comfortably. I had booked for two nights, planning to climb Sigiriya Rock in the morning and then relax by the pool in the afternoon. However, it seems that the hotel has a policy of turning off the electricity in the rooms during the daytime. Although I asked a staff member to turn the main power back on and they did, it was soon turned off again. When the main power is off, the room becomes completely dark, and neither the Wi-Fi nor the air conditioner works. It was clear that even if I asked them to turn it back on again, the same thing would just keep happening. I felt it would only add to my stress, so I decided to move to another hotel.
