Fairfield Inn & Suites Silao Guanajuato Airport

The hotel is good, the room is clean, the housekeeping staff are friendly, and the breakfast is delicious. However, I booked a room with a kitchen, but there were no cooking utensils such as a knife, cutting board, or pot. When I requested a knife for cooking, I was given a meat-cutting knife instead.

We booked with Bonvoy points due to a 5:45 am flight. Arrived in the afternoon and was surprised at how nice the lobby was - it even had a bar! Fanciest Fairfield inn that I’ve been in. Checkin was a breeze, even with a cat. We had to pay a $500 peso fee ($25 USD) and it was quick. They even offered a comp airport shuttle at 3am. The room (509) was clean, and we even had a balcony. Here’s where it gets weird. The “balcony” was a concrete area with 7-foot high walls. On the other side of the wall was some sort of food court atrium. It was a Friday afternoon/evening so we heard constant music and occasional happy hour screams, laughter and cheer. Normally I wouldn’t care, but we planned this hotel stay so we could go to bed super early because we had to wake up at 2am. The music didn’t stop until 9:30 pm. Also, the key only worked for the 5th floor, but the ice maker was on the 6th floor. So I had to enlist the help of two housekeepers to get me to the 6th floor. I would only stay there again if I could be guaranteed a hotel room on the even side of the hotel. The rooms facing the interior atrium are not appropriate for those needing a peaceful night’s sleep. This hotel stay was a GITSIP - Great in Theory, Sucks in Practice.

Just to my previous review and reply by Director General Sierra, I will NOT ever be returning to that are in the world in my lifetime, a solidified guarantee like no other. You knew we had an early flight and you chose to show up at 8:20am. It is also inconceivable to me that no person on the property at the time has access to that office of yours. That's just inane planning and management. You know my address, and you have my Kindle. At this point, send it at your cost or enjoy reading on my wife's Kindle. The ball is in your court Erika...

Decent place and close to Leon airport - that's the best I can offer from my experience. Quick story, stayed there before heading to San Miguel for a weekend. My wife left her Kindle in the room, figured that out in San Miguel. Told the hotel we'd be there again that Sunday night to stay before an early Monday flight back to California. Get there Sunday night, my wife's Kindle was locked in Manager's office and no one there could let us in. Got the manager on the line and she said she'd be there early Monday morning to give us the Kindle before our flight. Monday morning comes and she decides she didn't want to come in early and says they'll mail it to us - at our cost. We go home, they still have the Kindle almost two month later...
