Momentus Hotel Alexandra

I came to Singapore for my son's graduation ceremony. I booked this hotel because of its close proximity to the school, the appealing photos, and most importantly, the spacious rooms. The hotel is conveniently located with many bus stops nearby, making it easy to get around. There are also several restaurants in the adjacent shopping mall; I recommend the Indian restaurant and Toast Box.

As a Singaporean who grew up in Queenstown, near this hotel, staying here brought back a lot of childhood memories. The Queenstown Shopping Centre, where I often hung out as a kid, is still there, just diagonally opposite the hotel. Although the shops have probably changed many times, it still has two stalls selling Katong Laksa. Right next to the shopping center is the fire station. The Alexandra Food Centre, opposite the hotel, has been renovated many times but is also still there, making it very convenient for food. The 'Love Confectionery' from my childhood memories is also still around. If you turn left out of the hotel and walk down, you'll find an older HDB estate with the famous ABC Food Centre, which offers a good variety of delicious and affordable food. Getting around is quite convenient if you know how to use the bus system. The hotel service was good, but even with the air conditioning set to the lowest, it wasn't cold enough. To the right of the hotel is IKEA, and further down are new car showrooms. 305 Alexandra Road, for instance, is now a BYD showroom, but years ago it was the original site of the Nanyang Siang Pau, which later merged with Sin Chew Jit Poh to become Lianhe Zaobao.

I stayed at the Alexandra Hotel on Alexandra Road in mid-May with my child for an exam in Singapore. The location is excellent, right next to IKEA, and you can even see The Interlace, Singapore's famous 'Jenga block' residential complex. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and public buses are readily available. The MRT is a bit of a walk, about twelve minutes. If you're going further than two kilometers, I'd recommend taking a taxi; Grab (Gao De) is usually the best option. The hotel's seventh floor houses the breakfast restaurant, gym, and swimming pool. The pool is fantastic – a much better experience than typical five-star hotel pools. The room had great soundproofing and effective air conditioning. They don't provide bottled water, but there's drinkable tap water. They offer two complimentary sachets of instant American coffee and tea bags. Additionally, toothbrushes (no toothpaste, you need to request it from the hotel), cotton swabs, and disposable slippers are provided. The overall service was superb, especially the lobby staff. HUNG, SIMIE, ALIF, and IRISH were all very nice and enthusiastic. HUNG, in particular, was incredibly helpful in communicating directions with our taxi driver. 👍 I highly recommend this hotel for your consideration.
