Nice Room. Super friendly and helpful staff. Especially when we check out the room. Reception staff will remind me any itmes might be left behind(in sfaety box and bathroom). So sweet. That's why we went to this hotel since the name Hotel 1888 until they changed to Rest Chinatown Hotel. By the way, dont missed out the 2nd floor dim sum restaurant "Yum Cha".

Cozy and comfy boutique hotel in the heart of Chinatown. Comes recommended. Fairly priced and overall room design is chic.

Location is not far from train station but far from the shopping malls. The walls are thin so the noises can be heard easily. Other than that, good stay!

The hotel is located in a very central location and it is value for money considering how expensive accommodation are in Singapore. The room is small but it is comfortable and you have everything needed.

The guy at the front desk with long straight hair covering half his face is one of the most unpleasant persons I have ever met. Extremely disagreeable, rude and rigid. He is completely unsuitable to be in the service sector. The room is much more dinghy than the pics look. Everything is old and worn out. Couldn’t sleep as the aircon was not cold enough. By morning, it was blowing hot air, almost as if someone had turned off the aircon compressor, and it was just the fan function. Maybe the hotel did this on purpose to save money? The toilet is badly/cheaply designed as the glass is transparent, so you can see the toilet bowl when lying in bed. Very unpleasant. Thought the glass can be blurred, but it can’t. The “hotel” even tried to save on the cheap translucent film, and only used this in the double room. So singles have to look at the toilet bowl all night. Be warned also that the toilet door doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling, so the air from the toilet flows freely into the bed area. You will be breathing/smelling everything from the toilet while sleeping.

Great location easy to access bar, restaurant and MRT. I definitely stay here again when visit Singapore.

The facilities r a bit old and the bed is a bit dirty when we came in, but for the location it’s great

Great location ,cleanliness, Convince, good service, more facilities such as room slippers, wine cooler, near interesting place big temple , good restaurants , especially candel sweet of Singapore, can walk to MRT to other places or The Airport ergently Thanks.

This is a large old hotel located above a shopping mall that is connected to a metro station also. Everything is traditional and the age of the hotel showed in the room that I was staying in. However it was very comfortable and the staff provided an excellent service. I just wish I had a balcony or a designated smoking area

The environment here is very good! It's small but beautiful, and the housekeeping staff are also very clean. I would like to give special compliments to one of the staff Sufi, Very nice and patient with all our questions. It is a plus for this hotel to have Sufi ,great to have such an employee. The boss must give him a special reward when he sees it.

The room had no telephone to call reception. Projector cannot cast wirelessly wish was informed in advance.

worst experience i have ever been in.The customer service is very poor.I won’t recommend anybody to go there.

Room was cozy, good location, overall a very nice stay. Quite noisy both at night and in the morning, bad for light sleepers.

Very convenient. Cosy place with good provision. Will come back again
