The Alma Inn

Afew of us stopped over for one night before my wedding at a venue afew miles away. I had visited before one morning & had breakfast outside,it was a lovely sunny morning. Our room was nice,clean, The bed was comfy. We had an evening meal with afew drinks, The food was lovely & with the drinks reasonably priced. The breakfast the morning after,included in the price of the room,was good too. Plenty of car parking. In a lovely quiet,stunning spot. Will be going back soon.

We came across this place and what a find.. we rang in advance and asked if we could park overnight in the car park. Had a couple of drinks on the afternoon sitting outside in the brilliant beer garden with fantastic far reaching views. Professional barman as he chilled my glass with ice before putting the wine in. Its the little touches that make the difference. Booked a table for later that evening. Lovely restaurant area.. We chose a steak and a pie, the waitress told us there would be a 25minute wait with the pie, which was fine, as it means it is being freshly cooked. It was well worth the wait. Steak & pie were both delicious, very tasty food.. The staff were all friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend. We will come back. I would love this place as my local.

Would totally recommend this gem of an inn. Indeed, I already have to friends back home. Friendly and welcoming staff, simply furnished but tasteful, clean room and bathroom, with toiletries. Very comfortable bed. Cooked breakfast most excellent. Lovely views from carpark. Pub grub menu for evening meal. Good value ( we had evening meal, bed and breakfast rate).

Lovely accommodation, the rooms are very well finished and so clean. Outstanding food, the homemade steak and ale pie is the best I have ever tasted. All 3 breakfast we had were cooked to perfection and all cooked to order. There was even eggs Benedict & eggs Royale. The staff really make this place, always a smiling face, very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The outside garden area will be spectacular in the summer. Alma Inn is handy for exploring Hebden Bridge, Halifax and Haworth. Don’t we worrying about the noise from the bar, it was all quiet by 10.30 10.45pm. Great all round accommodation, we will definitely be returning.

Lovely little place, stayed one night with husband and friends of ours, the rooms were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, the bed was so comfy I slept in a little later than usual, we had drinks that night in the bar and went into town for a meal, reading the food reviews for the Alma now I wish we had eaten there instead. We did have breakfast this morning which was a 10/10 absolutely lovely. The staff are welcoming attentive and very friendly, would definitely stay again

Lovely place go ! Good location for exploring Breakfast delicious..service efficient and friendly The evening meal was tasty ..I had a piza and my wife a pasta dish on the first nighta next evening I had steak pie and a lasagna for my other half again tasty ! Everything is reasonably priced . If we are in the area again we’ll stay here . So thanks to all the staff (and the room cleaner) for giving us such a nice time

We have stayed this weekend and will definitely be returning! Welcomed by the team on arrival to a really nice atmosphere. The pub is cosy with the most delicious food. Showed to our room which was extremely clean and comfortable, the views are perfect! Breakfast in the morning is a must, a really good example of a full english, with multiple options on the menu. Would like to say a huge thank you for making our stay incredible

The food was really really bad, the worst meal I’ve ever had. There were 5 of us and the were all really bed. The roast potatoes were re headed from frozen or chilled and in edible, the beef was shocking and the pork advertised as loin but it was shoulder. Chicken strips burnt. I’ll never eat there again, must have changed hands .

Had a lovely 2 nights stay in the Alma, I have known this place when it was just a very small pub back in the '70' s when people just used to go for a drink and the only food on offer was a packet of peanuts. Despite all the extensions it's kept the character, charm and atmosphere, it's authentic. My room was cosy, chic and spotless. I had just the one dinner and it was restaurant standard, it was probably the best steak pie I have ever had and the tiny pan of gravy was absolutely delicious. The evening was busy, it had a very warm atmosphere, I probably shouldn't have had the chocolate brownie for dessert but I was enjoying the evening too much! Breakfast was also very good and with a decent choice. Next time I'm back in my old home village, I will be staying here!
