My Mother’s Day getaway was not so refreshing. There was hair in the shower before I even took my shower. Side note: it wasn’t mine. I found the front desk phone in my room. The deposit that was supposed to have been returned on checkout day, still hasn’t returned to my account 3 days later. I have tried to call to talk to them about this and nobody answers, nor am I able to leave a voicemail. Please check your rooms for the phone so we can get this straightened out.

My husband and I were walk ins and the front desk staff, Stephen and Jackie, greeted us with smiles and made us feel very welcomed. Stephen went above and beyond getting us the best possible rate when he found out that my husband was a fire marshal. He gave us two complimentary bottle of water because we are Hilton members and a big bar of hand/bath soap when there wasn't one in our room. Stephen also recommended a close by restaurant for us to eat. He told us to tell the server that he sent us over. The server knew Stephen from the Hampton and gave us a 10% off the bill. Both Stephen and Jackie treated us like family! The rest of the staff are lovely and friendly too! We always choose Hamptons when we travel because they are always clean and comfortable. The breakfasts have a good variety and this Hampton even have chocolate waffles! :) If we had one minor complaint, it's the small, older toilets. We are older people and would appreciate the comfort height toilets. Other than that, we are very happy with our stay!

After numerous flight cancellations we found ourselves in Charlotte in the middle of the night. There were no rooms by the airport, but we called these kind folks and they said they could find us a bed. We arrived at 3:00am, hungry and tired. They got us set up immediately. In the morning, we were unable to get an Uber to the airport at 6:30am due to it being Sunday. We frantically called the front desk, looking for options and Rob, the night duty clerk offers to take us himself after he got off his shift at 7:00pm. Wow! Talk about hospitality (not to mention sheer kindness). The breakfast was excellent and we arrived early for our flight. Thank you so much for everything!

Everything was familiar. Same efficient check-in, friendly greeting, good breakfast typical of HIE, extra clean bathroom. Things change after that. There was this raunchy smell in the room. Front desk offered to give me a small can of air freshener, that solved it. We almost needed a stepladder to climb on the bed, it was so high. The toilet is very low, I had the impression I was falling down before I was sitting. The noisy elevator shakes, something that doesn't usually make me worry but this time it did. As the title says, it's a HIE but they have some issues to work out.
Economy Inn - Statesville

It was in high tourist season, in the evening, when we were traveling without a reservation for a hotel, and for miles all the hotels were booked up. This Economy Inn had only one unreserved room, which they had been in the process of remodeling. They helped us out by quickly putting things in order in the room so that we had a very clean room, with a comfortable bed. The manager even went so far as to replace the ac filter, so that the air in our room would be fresh. We greatly appreciated having a safe, clean place to rest for the night. This is a place where the management takes pride in their business.
