We have enjoyed dining out at the Parkwood Hotel many times in the past so we thought we would try the menu after the establishment had recently been taken over, We had been recommended the Homemade Smoked Wagyu CheeseBurger with Bacon Jam & Zesty Mayo, Sounds lovely doesn't it? Bit the expensive side at £16.95 but we were told it i worth it because of the quality of the ingredients. Unfortunately what we got instead was two frozen style burger patties without the jam & mayo as they had run out of Wagyu burgers, We had to ask for cutlery & none of the staff bothered to come across to see if our meals were OK & to top it off we were charged full price. Good luck with your new venture but if I were you I'd refrain from raving about how good your food is on Facebook if you are then going to serve substandard meals, the item should have taken off the menu rather than insult customers like this.

After The Parkwood Hotel had recently been taken over, My Daughter & Her Partner had visited for food and had expressed how great the Smoked Wagyu CheeseBurger was and the photo they forwarded made me want to try it so we went along with them and two of us ordered the Wagyu burger, we where then told they had run out so were offered two quarter pounder burgers instead and we had to pay the same rather expensive price of £16.95! When it arrived it was a pair of poxy frozen burgers with the Bacon Jam & Zesty Mayo mentioned on the menu also missing, After eventually receiving cutlery which the server had forgotten to bring we tucked into our meals & All I would say is it was edible, none of the staff bothered themselves to come over to our table to see if the food was OK & during the meal my Daughter's Partner mentioning how much poorer it was compared to the Burger he had recommended to us. Afterwards My Wife complained to the bar staff but they didn't seem concerned and gave her the e-mail of the establishment. Terrible way to treat customers & we won't be returning for food unfortunately. If you do go in there ordering the Wagyu Burger & they offer two quarter pounder patties instead choose something else, Not at all good for an establishment which has only recently re-opened and was raving about it's own food on facebook.

We went here today for my dad's funeral and everything was perfect, the buffet was ordered for 30 people and there was enough for probably 40 and was beautifully presented ,plenty of choice and tasted delicious, the staff were all polite and helpful I thank them all for a memorable afternoon on a very hard day.

Went in to see if the new owners had made any changes for the better. Bit sad a full conservatory restaurant and people eating in the bar. This place could be a gold mine, needs to compete with the Masham that does not have a separate bar area - this place has. Keep the bar area food free and you will have the best place in Hartburn

Following the change of ownership, we were excited to see if there was any improvement from our last visit 8 years ago. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The shabby entrance did not feel inviting and the decor throughout is very dated. We had to order meals at the bar even though the waitress took our drinks order. When the food arrived, it was disappointing. Meat was overcooked and dry, fish and chips were soggy and greasy. However, the vegetables were fresh and nicely cooked. We were not asked if everything was ok with our meals, or we would have mentioned our concerns. Deserts were ok. It was very noisy and there was a customer vaping in the restaurant. A total refit is definitely in order. It might be another 8 years before we return.

Let’s start with the positive: cooked breakfast is good - but has to be ordered 24 hours in advance (you get a right bollocking if you don’t pay immediately the moment you order) The rooms are tiny, claustrophobic warm and a death trap as windows can’t be opened in case of fire. The special offers in restaurant has to be ordered 48 hours in advance ( really how hard can it be to pickup supplies in the coop? And to open a bottle of bubbles?) Gin and wine offer is severely limited. Food in restaurant is warmups that spend too much time under the grill: black bangers Other times your food is cold Really this place should be shut down

Room was clean and comfortable. Did not have breakfast available during the week and did not try breakfast baskets that were the weekday option. We did have dinner and our burgers were very good. The staff were friendly and we were happy with this hotel.

Never been here before, and I would definitely drink there again, but I will definitely not eat there again. The place itself is beautiful and has a nice a**osphere. But I think the drinks are a little overpriced. Staff were very friendly and kept the table clear and made sure to ask if we needed more drinks. So, why wouldn't I eat there again. I ordered steak pie and chips and was disappointed to say the least, both with portion size and price. My pie was a warmed up Pukka pie served with 8 undercooked chips, and peas that were served in a pot and luke warm at best. So I was a bit gutted to have to pay £15 for this meal. It's fair to say that were still hungry after our meal. (My partner had the same, only she had 7 chips). In all, lovely place, poor overpriced food.
