Megami No Yu Iris Park is an outdoor-lovers dream stay. They have camping option and cabins available on site, and their location is absolutely marvelous. Tucked away just outside the main ***** of Chikatsuyu in its own private riverside valley up against the forested mountains, Iris Park has absolutely everything for a quiet nature-focused getaway. The homemade meals prepared for us (we'd selected this option with our cabin on our 2nd stop along the Kumano Kodo) were fantastic! Plua the onsen on-site was virtually our own private bath during our stay!! Do not be put off by the location - an easy 10-minute walk outside town, or a very quick drive - because the serenity and gorgeous landscape you'll find here is 1000% worth it.

The location is not far from Chikatsuyu. I followed Google Map and easily found it! Very tasty dinner and breakfast. Great size house!!! I also enjoyed the onsen. It's so nice!!! The manager speaks great English and it's easy to communicate! Thank you so much!

The park was a nice location, seems to have been in hard times/a bit run down, maybe just the winter season. Was a bit expensive for what it was, some other inns along the kumano kodo included dinner/lunch for same price. However it does the job! Was expecting to be in one of the cute cabins but was in a building block.

The room is a stand-alone building with Japanese tatami. There is only a toilet in the room, and the bath is in the hot spring next to it. The environment is beautiful, and there is a camping site next to it where you can have a bonfire. It is a 20-minute walk from Jinlu Prince and the station, and a 1-hour walk from Jisakura Prince, and a 50-minute return. Dinner is only instant noodles, but it tastes good

The environment is good, but the distance is quite far. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk to the small village. Driving is definitely suitable. You can bring your own camping gear or rent a cabin. Dinner and lunch are delicious, and you can go to the bathhouse to soak in the hot springs after checking in.

Very remote... In a corner, there is only one self-service vending machine around. You can order food at the front desk, and the taste is OK. The service is good, no one makes the beds, it feels like living in a warehouse... free onsen.

很偏遠,房間並不便宜但是打掃的不是很乾凈,還要自己鋪床,被子很重。温泉是不錯的,額外預訂的中午的便當雖然就是普通的飯糰但還不錯的

While it is a 15min walk from town, it is a great cooldown and worth the additional effort. The space is comfortable, spacious, has enough bedding and a nice teapot and some tea for you to make in your room. The WiFi is fantastic and the room even has a fridge. The onsen was perfect after the hike and is high on mineral content to refuel and refresh sore muscles. Room also came with a lengthy extension cord with 6 outlets and a private bathroom. Now the absolute highlight of my stay was the food! The dinner was tasty and abundant. The dashi was my favorite but really everything was delicious. When you book, be sure to add dinner and breakfast. While I left too early before breakfast, they were very accommodating and packed it up for me! Highly recommend.

AVOID!! this campsite is horrible. I'm not usually one to moan about accommodation but this one is worth a mention. We stayed in bungalow #6 and were hit by a wall of damp musty smelling air as we entered. It was so bad we slept with the windows wide open. In hindsight we should have slept outside. We were so desperate to get out we left at dawn. There is rubbish EVERYWHERE and not taken care of at all. One booking website mentioned a kitchen, there is not one. If you want a BBQ (which is a concrete pit) you need to pay for fire wood and hire everything for a charge. The only good thing was the onsen and the setting by the river. Really not worth the money we paid, AVIOD AVIOD AVIOD.

Okukumano Onsen Megami no Yu is located in Iris Park. A cold sodium bicarbonate spring is poured into the poly bathtub with a heating circulation. Thick bath feeling. Bathing fee is 650 yen.
