"Booked for kumano kodo, was a good stay and had very good first impressions. I liked their shuttle bus. Lots of options and made traveling around easier. Staff member “RYU” was particularly an amazing part of the experience. She made sure we were comfortable. I loved the room and it felt like a very traditional experience. Only thing I disliked was the water in the hot spring. It was not something you could dig, and the “hot spring” (outdoor) had a lot of sediment from dead leaves that made it feel a bit dirty."

The hotel is a standard Japanese onsen hotel; although it's a bit dated, it doesn't feel old. After a day of hiking the Kumano Kodo's Nakaheji route, soaking in the hot springs at the hotel was incredibly relaxing. A stay here is a must-do – the dinner and breakfast are very plentiful and are some of the best onsen meals I've had in recent years. The best onsen hotel near Hongu Taisha Shrine on the Kumano Kodo – highly recommended!"
