Hotel Caretta was an excellent choice. Nearby to the airport and located next to the beach. Room was spacious, clean and hotel had nice amenities. WiFi was good, water clean, Staff very friendly. The hotel had bicycles available for guest use. There was a dive resort next door for those whom wanted to explore the ocean. The hotel had an on site restaurant that had great food (breakfast and dinner) and there were nearby izakayas for those whom wanted to try local places. Great time and would love to return. I made the reservation more than two months ago and was looking forward to going with my wife, who is working away from home, but the night before we left, she had a fever. We will go to Amami Oshima again, but not to this hotel. After all, I have a strong resistance to paying 100% of the accommodation fee due to the circumstances of this time, even though I did not receive any service. It is a shame because the staff who dealt with us on the phone were polite. Hotels are a service industry, and I believe they exist to make customers happy, so I hope that they will not only prioritize the convenience of the hotel, but also take into consideration the convenience of customers who would like to go but cannot.

Also, you can choose Japanese food and Italian food, and you can change the color 々 every day, so you won't get tired. The restaurant is located in the main building, about 500m away, including the slope, but you can pick up and drop off. The main building where the restaurant is located is on a hill and you can enjoy your meal while admiring the wonderful sea view. It takes １ time and １ time and half by car to the mangrove area and Kojinya, but if you ask, you can prepare lunch in the morning, so you can rest assured even if you want to go out early in the morning. The exterior is nostalgic, but the kitchen, bath and toilet are equipped with the latest equipment, and there are many kinds of detergents (for kitchen, laundry, body). The inconvenience that seems to be ”in the mountains” is that the radio waves that are essential in the present world are weak and unstable. I was able to send and receive text almost without problems, but voice calls and photos were difficult. The video was impossible. There is also a TV, but only satellite broadcasting (and NHK contract information will be provided). There is also a guide to the inn, but the towels were a little tired. The most inconvenient thing was that there was no closet that the lodger could use. There are few hangers (no hanging places), so it may be difficult for long stays with costumes.
