4-Star Hotels in Johor, Malaysia

I am very grateful to St Giles for accommodating to mh request for more vegan friendly food on Vesak Day so that I could also enjoy my breakfast happily. I’m so surprised that they really prepared a variety of vegan friendly food. St Giles is always my favourite choice for hotel stay. It’s feels safe with the security around and being linked to a mall it is so convenient, you can buy and eat anything at Mid Valley Southkey mall. Yesterday I saw more interesting F&B in the mall. Unfortunately although I request for a room with a good sunrise view, the window was dirty and the dressing table was not clean too, could see spots on it. Amenities wise, I think it is better now with shampoo and body wash installed. The fragrance in the room and the music from the TV were soothing. Thank you St Giles for another wonderful stay!

The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The value for money was excellent, and the night view from the balcony was incredibly therapeutic.

Criticisms first: Toilet paper has blood on it upon check in and windows clearly has smudges on it. Reception told me to pick up new toilet paper from downstairs. I think realistically, you won't get full hotel service but the bloody toilet paper really made me feel very grossed out and I wish I didn't have to touch it. Positives: apart from that, the room was actually really comfortable and spacious. Floors, sheets and toilet was clean. Didn't use the kitchen but it was clean too. We stayed near the lift but it wasn't noisy. Overall, I think it's worth to stay here. I had good sleep and easy check in/out service.

Overall its a good experience staying here at Holiday Villa. Room was clean and sheets were clean..breakfast was ample choices w spacious seatings. However 2 feedback When we were checking in on a Sat eve at 5pm we were waiting for 6 rooms almost 45 mins and we were the only ones. Not sure whats the delay caused by as i noyice the staff attending to us was looking at his screen for a long time. Safety Proposal While your toilet is spacious there is a high risk of falls esp for kids and elderly as yr toilet shower area does not have the safty gran bars to steady ourselves while imunder the shower and soaping on a slippery wet floor without friction. The tiles should be layered with rought or fast drying texture for safety. So either lace the tile surface or installl saftey bars or both. Do review this urgently..No one should fall inside the toilet while bathing esp since its only the overhead rain shower and no handheld shower piece. Hope this suggestion help to prevent accidental falls waiting to happen.

Had a great stay at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre for the 2nd time! Staff were friendly and the room was comfortable. Location is super convenient too. One concern though - the lift access to guest floors felt a bit too open. Anyone can press the button and get up to the floors, even with the card reader being overridden. Feels like a safety risk, especially in a busy city centre hotel. Hope they look into beefing up security for guests' peace of mind. Overall, would still recommend - but hope they address this!”

Decided to book last minute - initially cant book for family of 2A2C. WhatsApp them, replies was….sluggish. Finally manage to book and the room was…not like the initial ones. Previous booking it was really great. Room size room cleanliness. The room we got was small but there’s multiple hairs on the carpet. Especially with kids, that was just a no no. Call them via the phone provided, was put on hold and the line got cut off 🙂 Tried calling again, took quite a while before finally got connected. Upgrade the room for RM80. Whatever that was book on trip wasn’t as per advertised. Second, it was drizzling. So we went downstairs to take a look at the swimming area. There’s no towels. Call the front desk ask if the swimming pool is open, they mention “I think it’s open” Breakfast was subpar.

The frontlines are very polite and courteous upon arrival and check out on our request for late c/ out with no charge. The room only provides single pillow per bed instead of 2 pillows for most of the 3 stars and above hotel. They did provide after request. The room edges and corners are full of thick dusts and musky smell upon entering the room. The buffet bf on the 1st floor is average with 3 or 4 main courses, white bread, salad bar and one type of fruit .The table we sit is with ants crawling. Waiters are friendly with smiles,

Clean room. Friendly & helpful staff. Location not so convenient cos of the RTS construction. Swimming pool & other facilities on level 13 under renovation during our stay. Shower screen glass door faulty, cannot close completely, water flow out when we shower. Whole toilet floor wet. Floor tiles not the anti fall tiles. Breakfast was so so only. Lots of varieties but taste not there. I rather they focus on fewer dishes and taste good.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, professional, and efficient, which made the overall experience smooth and comfortable. The room was also very clean and well-maintained, and the location is highly accessible, making it convenient to get around. The only downside was the waiting time at the lift lobby, which was quite long during my stay. It may have been due to a special event or peak period. Aside from that, everything else was excellent, and I would still recommend this hotel.
