HOTEL TAVINOS Asakusa

The self check-in and check-out process was very convenient. One of the biggest advantages was that they allowed us to store our luggage for free both before check-in and after check-out. There is a convenience store right next to the hotel, which was very handy. The Tsukuba Express station is also nearby. Asakusa Hanayashiki, Senso-ji Temple, UNIQLO, and various other shops are all within walking distance. However, the hotel is quite far from JR stations, so getting around by JR was not very convenient. Although the visible areas of the hotel looked clean overall, there was quite a lot of dust, so the cleanliness could be improved. Overall, it was a convenient place to stay, especially for exploring Asakusa.

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Asakusa, Hotel Tavinos is a solid choice. The rooms are compact but the location makes up for it. Lawson is next door, Don Quijote and ROX Mall are within walking distance, and there are lots of food options nearby. It’s also close to the Asakusa Sumo Club, so it’s convenient if you’re planning to watch a sumo show. You can easily explore Asakusa on foot, while Tokyo Station is about 30 minutes away and Shibuya is around an hour by train. The hotel has a nice lounge on the second floor where many guests hang out in the evenings. Coffee, pastries, and self-serve miso soup are available in the morning. Toiletries are picked up beside the front desk, and there’s a laundry room with a vending machine. Washing costs ¥400 and drying is ¥100 every 15 minutes, so expect to spend around ¥800 if you need a full load. The free luggage storage was also convenient before heading to the airport.

Overall, this was a great value-for-money stay in Asakusa. The hotel was clean, modern, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed, and the facilities were well maintained. The only downside was the location. It’s not particularly close to the main Asakusa subway stations, so if you’re carrying luggage or planning to use the train frequently, be prepared for a 10–15 minute walk. However, it’s still within walking distance of Senso-ji Temple and plenty of restaurants and convenience stores, making it a pleasant area to stay. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for travellers looking for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price.
