Crowne Plaza Toronto - North York

I highly recommend the balcony room. Opening the sliding door leads right out to the lawn and trees, and standing on the terrace gives you a real vacation feel. The room type is spacious, and while the bathroom fixtures are a bit dated and could use an upgrade, the hygiene is good, and the hotel is generally well-maintained. The breakfast is also tastier and more varied than in the UK. It's a very standard hotel overall.

The Japanese staff at the front desk, the Indian staff, and the Jamaican staff in guest services were all very kind. However, another staff member in guest services was too focused on tips, which made me uncomfortable.

We booked a room with two double beds but were given a king-sized bed instead. When we unfolded the towels, all four bath towels had hair on them – it was absolutely disgusting. We were traveling with another family and wanted our rooms to be close together. The Indian guy at the front desk told us that the rooms were pre-assigned and couldn't be changed. However, another Indian girl at the front desk was very friendly and gave us rooms on the same floor. Avoid this hotel; the hygiene is terrible.

Great location, but the elevators are really slow. The hotel is a bit old, but it's fine for a short stay. The night view is pretty good too!

The location is convenient. Overall, the experience was great, and I would choose to stay here again.
