Our first visit, fourteen years ago, made a really lasting, positive impression upon us. Unfortunately I became ill while there, and was unable to eat the wonderful food I was presented with. Without going into details about my illness, I just couldn’t eat very much at all. The staff were so caring, concerned about my well being, but also concerned that there might something more they could do to make my stay more comfortable, I felt I was important to them. That was remarkable. The whole experience was first class, I was just so disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy the wonderful food which was on offer. It’s taken a while for us to return, but my husband’s birthday was a good excuse. This time, I was able to fully enjoy the same care and excellent service, stunning food, warm and friendly ambience, and relaxing few days. Thank you to all at the hotel Balmoral. I look forward to our next visit. Keep up the excellent work and attention to detail !

The hotel was lovely. We stayed for 4 nights. The food was excellent, very well presented and cooked. Fresh good quality ingredients and varied menu each day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside could be there is no lift to the rooms.

What a fabulous hotel, the location is perfect with meedfoot beachfront just 2 min walk , the welcome from Linda when we arrived to check in , was warm friendly and professional, because we had booked the weekend special we had the Devon cream included absolutely delicious, all the meals we had were superb , the staff were friendly and professional , nothing was to much , our room was a cosy double, it was spotless and had everything we needed, I would highly recommend this hotel and me and the wife will definitely be returning.

We have returned here several times after a very enjoyable experience staying here. Food is excellent, staff very accommodating and bedroom comfortable. Lovely ambience in the lounge and restaurant. The grounds in the garden are ideal to relax in, a stones throw from the quiet Meadfoot beach. Parking good, with excellent bus service to Torquay right outside the hotel.

Friendly and very welcoming hotel. The family (certainly not just staff) do everything to assist you and themselves to make your stay memorable. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food absolutely first class. Thank you one and all for our stay

Spent an excellent few days at the Balmoral with friends. We have been many times before and keep going back because we have such an exceptionally good time there. They always look after us and make our stays very special at a very reasonable cost. Thank you, Balmoral!

We have visited The Balmoral for at least 15years,and we have never had the need to complain about anything at all.The food is first class, staff cannot do enough for you to make your stay comfortable . With not having a lift as I get older ,I do feel the need for someone to carry my case up the stairs for me,you could take that as request as I will be back.

Great value .Food excellent and staff go the extra mile to ensure good service .Room was "cosy" but well furnished ,very clean and the whole stay was a pleasure. I'd certainly recommend it my adult friends. This was our second stay at the Balmoral and in due course will visit again.

Cozy room with part sea/garden view, it is small but adequate as we were on a weekend break, clean and very comfortable bed…. The meals were excellent and value for money, beautifully cooked and presented, all staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure your stay was catered for, entertain at night was an excellent opportunity to relax after a days sight seeing! This was our third visit at this hotel and we shall definitely be back!
